it was going backwards down current. Was this what used to be called a Mexican stand off. Tidal currents in the New England area are much stronger than in Matamoros. How do you say forward and aft in Spanish. Maybe the tug got it reversed. The flag was flying as if the ship was going forward. Must have been a good breeze.
