The United Methodist Church is at this point nothing more than a trophy pelt being worn by the liberal horde that conquered it. It’s not a church.

Just going through their socials and their messaging, their identity, their underlying driving principles are not God's word. It's social justice nonsense that they worship first.

The regulative principle of worship states that whatever is not commanded is forbidden.

The argument for a capella singing in worship is made from the lack of scriptural warrant for musical accompaniment in the New Testament combined with the music of the Old Testament worship being tied to the sacrifices which have been abolished with Christ’s death on the cross.

But like I said, this is debated and not largely agreed upon. The RPW is certainly helpful in many other ways by keeping man-made inventions out of worship.

That’s why we don’t allow doorknobs in our church.
