I know several Americans that left Spain for Nairobi last year. All wealthy ex-pats. Spain has been on a downward trajectory for a while.

The protests in Barcelona have been going on since March and seemed to have reached an inflection point after some 87 year old got evicted from their home

Spain is not great but why would you move from there to Kenya? Nairobi can’t be safer than Barcelona where you can at least drink the water. I never feel safe in Uganda and can’t think Kenya would bd great for living full time. Am I missing something?

Yes. Nairobi is extremely safe and accommodating to westerners. Especially in the more affluent areas. It’s no different than anywhere else in that crime still exists in bad areas, but you’re never going to have a reason to go there.
The cops there don’t play around with crime. The government wants foreign investment and recognize that’s tied to quality of life.

I don’t know when was the last time you were there but I have flown into and traveled through Nairobi twice in the last decade. I mean it’s ok but I wouldn’t describe it as “nice” compared to a nice Western city. It’s “nice” compared to Lagos
