Do you understand what caused inflation?

Hint, its not fricking corporate profits like Joe told you bitches.

In your own words, how can Joe defeat inflation?

I'm with you and have been increasingly skeptical since the eggs price fluctuations in 2022. Downvote away.

Is gas up? Yes. Are supply chains arse? Probably (even four years later). But somehow, big food is posting record profits anyways. So what gives??

couple of trillion dollars in covid spending, run away military spending. All of these things voted on and approved by republicans as well. Now tell me how reducing inflation will make corporations lower prices. historically when prices go up and stay up for this long of a period they don't come back down. Americans aren't going to stop buying groceries and the companies aren't going to cut profit to help Americans.

Use Executive Authority to Lower Food Prices

Sure.

Do that, and have the Federal Gov subsidize to offset the loss to food producers, therefore increasing national debt and increasing the tax burden of every American even more, resulting in the average consumer paying even more than they are now.

She did well in the 50s and early 60's, but most of her sales have been posthumous. Of which she has done well in the past 40 years

Government regulation this. Government regulation that. Every thing guys like this stick a rod up your arse the faux free market types yell about government regulation to justify the attempt to impregnate you through the wrong hole while their profits soar and they collude amongst themselves.....Meanwhile, the chicken farms get screwed. The pork producers get porked and the beef ranchers get tubesteak up the wrong hole.....and the end consumer gets slow fricked.

But sure blame government regulation. It's easier

The most shocking thing about modern Americans is how utterly stupid they are.

Corporations have not raised their profit markets, genius. Joe Biden is lying to you.

Inflation led to record profit, inflation is caused by government spending, not corporate profits.

Yall are really stupid people.

But if inflation was the culprit and no doubt it is component, the net profit would reflect the inflation as they would be paying costs commensurate with it. So if they were making an 11% net margin before the pandemic, a 12 - 14% would not be out of line. But the net is where the are crushing it especially Cargill,Tyson and Nestlé .

The problem is, that 6 or so companies are responsible for about 75 to 80% of the food in your pantry and freezer.....and they know it and it looks like they are capitalizing on it . Aside from the consumer getting hit hard, their suppliers are beat down. If you are a chicken guy, Tyson and Sanderson are your big players in the Southeast. Ask a chicken farmer if Tyson is offering all that much more post pandemic. Aside from a momentary shock last year I'll wager both are beating the farmers down to where they are just hanging on.....same with pork producers.

Like I said. I'm in no way going to advocate for price controls, but an Antitrust suit? I can think of no group that is as deserving. It would probably be good for the consumer in the long run

Price ceilings result in shortages. If you want to starve people, do that.

I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the resulting food shortages.
