I can't see why they wouldn't do this whether minimum wage were $15 or $1.50

Who are black people going to beat up or shoot when the order is wrong?

So long as it's more reliable than their ice cream machines, it should be a yuge improvement.

Those machines are made to break.

When my wife and I were in New Zealand for a couple weeks, that is something they already had and it worked great.
Fricken cigarettes were $25.00 a pack though.

Why wouldn’t they just have touchscreens?

It's almost like this has nothing to do with a minimum wage increase.

Why not put the kiosk machine that’s inside outside and bam. Problem solved

I always pick a kiosk over a braindead employee. One less potential failure point. At least the order will be submitted into the system properly. Now I only have to worry the idiot in the back can prepare the order according to the ticket. Hopefully in the future the burger making will become automated as well.

My only gripe with this: if they can replace humans with robots to do something as complicated as taking an order in as little as a few years, why have the McFlurry machines been broken since the 90s???

They don’t want people on $15 per hour. They want people on UBI. This is the end game, not a win for small govt.

Will they be programmed to say the shake machine is broken?

Fast food joints are expected to be like that. Some of those restaurants may smile and pretend like they agree with a minimum wage increase.. but ya just know that they are planning on going automated.

I think bigger stores will also.
I fully expect Walmart to become fully automated within a few years.
