Have you seriously not noticed "minimum wage" jobs being vastly higher than minimum?

This was actually true in the 70s as well - most inflation was pushed by wages.

You commie bastards really want the dollar to crumble, don't yall? The only 2 things that you can do if you ever increase the debt is to either print more money or tax more. One will stagnate the economy and the other will just increase inflation and widen the gap between the elite and the ever dying middle class.

Have you seriously not noticed almost every last place that hires those kinds of employees have help wanted signs and reduced hours?

Meaning there's a supply shortage of labor and thus higher wages?

And...great news! The debt ceiling deal .. is now the law of the land!

Do you really believe that the continued practice of running up our debt, which both party's have a hand in, is a good thing? No worries at all where it's leading us?

I’m still amazed at how you Einsteins always have it figured out so fast that any reports that is somewhat positive is fake news that’s been altered. Any negative news is lauded as “truth” immediately and celebrated.

I have posted the job numbers and CPI reports every month for at least the last 4 to 5 months, often with no commentary. I don't believe much reported by the government, "good" or "bad." I own a retail business, a small commercial shopping center, and I am in the process of remodeling two houses, so I have a pretty good feel of what's going on in a general sense. Here on the MS gulf coast, things are far from great. Over half the HVAC units people are having installed, they're putting on credit. Locals can't buy houses due to the stubbornly high prices, combined with interest rates. Most transactions are coming from out-of-staters buying property here. And labor costs for any type of construction work are astronomical because that's what contractors have to charge just to make it.

I don’t believe those numbers from this illegitimate regime.

Work harder and get a raise. If prices are rising then your company’s prices are also rising - they’re making more money but you aren’t? Many companies (including mine) had record revenues last FY and I had a healthy chunk in my Bonus

The increase in the unemployment rate from a 53-year low of 3.4% in April reported by the Labor Department on Friday was mostly driven by Blacks.

Why don't you post a link to the entire article?

won’t lie inflation is crushing me. I’m making it. I’m not wasting money, but prices are increasing at a pace I’ve never seen. I was a baby in the 1970s.

The cost of food is what is ridiculous. Feels like every other week I cut back on some groceries yet the bill keeps going up

Then you shouldn’t have a problem reading the constant revisions of data downwards quarterly. Or maybe even the participation rates ?

You usually have to read to the end of an article on the jobs report to find out what the revisions were. Too often lately they've been downward.

Not this time, however. Also, payroll gains for March and April were revised up by a total 93,000, depicting stronger hiring in late winter and early spring than believed.

Labor participation rate 1950 onward

In January 2021 it was 61.3% and in May it was 62.6%. The rate went up with the boomers in the 90's and early 2000's and has generally been going down since as boomers have retired. The lowest ebb was 58% in the mid 1950's when the boomers were kids. There are bumps in the line due to recessions, etc., but the trend appears more demographic than anything else to me.

I was laid off 2 weeks ago. Job market sucks for senior IT folks. Everyone collecting resumes, but not hiring. From my experience....

I don't have to explain to you that an unemployment rate below 4% is absolutely phenomenal, right?

The irony of a simpleton reductionist obtuse NPC “simpsplaining” statist economic propaganda is rich and delicious.
