I bet it’s mostly Government. Those are pretty much the only people that I know who have gotten pay raises.

The biggest increases were in government, utilities, and large hotels.

Just finished up a zoom meeting with the state of Florida chamber of commerce. They were sort of trying to brag about how great the job market is here while hedging that it’s only good here because of Ron. They claim April 2022 to April 2023 saw 363,400 new jobs in Florida.

Yep. And we’ll use this every time a democrat is in office just like we did with Obama.

I don't care which party is in office. The math is the math, unless you look at participation the unemployment percentage is meaningless.

I just recently completed an annual county wide wage and benefit survey. It was crazy to see how many people saw year over year increases in salary of over 22%. The average ended up being closer to 14%. The job market is pretty good right now. I’m not seeing many people who aren’t in a better place now than they were 1-2 years ago.

I don't have to explain to you that an unemployment rate below 4% is absolutely phenomenal, right?

Tell us the number of people working multiple jobs to get by and the number of people not working at all.

a truly phenomenal unsustainable combo of numbers

If you’re working multiple jobs in this economy just to get “by” you made a lot of bad decisions.

No. When Trump was in office we never considered labor participation rates and by god we’ll do it again in 2024.

We all believe the numbers when you see stores that can't open doors because they aren't staffed (Dollar General, RaceTrac, others just here alone), restaurants with empty tables that won't seat people because they are understaffed. Small businesses that have begun shuttering in decent numbers after enduring the pandemic. Layoffs in the 10s of thousands announced seemingly every week. Employers (including me) that can't get people to show up for a damn interview they agreed to... Retailers that are turning down forecasts for the holiday season ahead based on grim indicators. Retailers that are filing for bankruptcy left and right.

But yeah, unemployment is low! Times are good!

While traveling this past week, couldn't help but notice all those teenaged American kids working fast food and retail. Oh, my bad, couldn't help but notice the non-English speaking people that are dominating entry level jobs across the country. But nothing to worry about, teens don't need jobs.

They were considered by those who actually depend in part on the numbers to make investment decisions.

2019 was the highest participation rate since 2010 and about 5% higher than it currently is. But go ahead and make it seem like this is a partisan issue. It's your only defense to indefensible numbers.

If you were relying on some silly, fake numbers from liberal elites instead of Trump truthbombs to make investments you probably lost a lot of money.

1) To equal the number of people entering the job force each month, we need close to 300,000 jobs.

2) Those are made up numbers.

Fake news. This figure doesn't include folks who aren't actively looking for jobs. Include those and I'm sure the rate will be in the teens.

yup. and his labor force participation will not eclipse trumps. i posted the graph the other day. shite obama had the lowest LFP one year since carter.

Now democrats are devil take the hindmost
What about all the sufferers of "institutionl racism" and "the male-female wage gap"?

Real wages are not up. Lots of people are on the edge. Spending is unsustainable. You won't be here when the house of cards collapses.

Was there some magic rise in wages that outpaced inflation that I missed?

I mean, a lot of the inflation has been wage inflation, hasn't it?
