The only comparative semblance is that both Cato and Massie got stomped by a powerful pragmatic leader whom they badly underestimated.
Good response. I wrongfully attributed "bread and circuses" to Nero.

It’s always been personal with Massie.

It has ALWAYS been personal with Massie, just as it was when McCain screwed the entire country over his personal hidden vendetta with Trump during the Obamacare vote.
Trump wanted to take a shot at McCain, he took one of the most ill-advised "insults" I've ever heard, and it cost the country the chance at overturning obamacare. Both of them were idiots on that one.

I wouldn’t model anything after Massie. At all.

Massie Pad is soaking it up before getting tossed.

The guy being threatened to be primaried by Trump with Adelson money is standing up for himself. fricking unbelievable.

Brutha, I think your headline distorts and skews the content of this mini interview.
I don't see a single thing wrong with what Thomas Massie said or his positions here. His tone is polite, direct and without any double-speak.
(And where are the threads titled, 'Trump makes it personal about Massie'? Truth be told, HE is the one always making simple disagreements on policy issues personal. Anyway, so what -- Massie finessed a barb at Trump -- big whoop.)

How do you explain to voters why the president is is fighting your discharge petition or fighting the release of these this documents from the Justice Department?
MASSIE:
Well, you know, I vote with my party 91%
of the time and which means I agree with the have agreed with the President 91% of the time,
but they when they're protecting pedophiles, when they are blowing our budget, uh when they arestarting wars overseas, I'm sorry, I can't go along with that.
And and back home, people agree with me.
They understand, even the the most ardent Trump supporters understand sometimes he gets bad advice, sometimes he gives bad advice, and we wouldn't model our lives after him, uh, his personal life. And, um, they're okay with that.
I mean, they can still you can still like Donald Trump in Kentucky and like what I'm doing and what Ro Khan is doing, which is trying to get transparency.

Don't see them either.

one of the most ill-advised "insults" I've ever heard
McCain was lauded as a war "hero," and why? Literally because he was poor pilot and it got him shot down and captured. From that point, he was certainly no more heroic than other POWs. There is no comparison whatsoever between, for example, McCain and Stockdale, who truly was a hero.
Trump was responding to McCain's attacks on him (including accusations of evading the draft). Now you can say it was ill-advised to undermine the overcredit McCain accumulated from the MSM for getting shot down in Hanoi. But both McCain and Trump recognized the truth underlying the insult.

For frick's sake, now we're going with "he started it"? They both acted like children, and I think you're the first relatively normal person I've ever heard defend Trump's asinine statement he made about ALL POWs, not just McCain. Congrats, I guess.

Well to be fair about half of Trump's cabinet members past their auditions on the Fox network

Brother thanks for the transcript. I agree that most of what Massie said was objective. I had just never heard him say anything PERSONAL about Trump...which was remarkable considering how personally insulting Trump is with anyone who doesn't agree with him.

I voted for Trump to do a job as president not be my role model. I had parents and a bunch of those growing up. I’m a believer that God uses the talents of people who aren’t necessarily his best followers.
