i was 6 when it happened i don't remember it 60 minutes did a piece on it when i was in college class of 83. that's when the narrative shifted that there was something possibly nefarious at play, but that was a clear as mud and a low point for even 60 minutes. it is what it has always been written off as the fog of war. you people are idiots.

Historically, this was a polarizing event with polarizing figures. I have read several books summarizing official narratives and firsthand accounts. Conclusions vary from polar opposites to overlap. There is a time and a place for spirited and even heated debates over the subject.
However, this is not that. I have respected a great many of Massie’s positions on a variety of topics but this is beyond the pale of unnecessary and serves no purpose except to further inflame the political climate.
I posted a stronger argument in this thread. But the US Navy investigated and found it to be fog of war mishaps and accidental...
