Mass shootings would stop immediately if we did a few simple things

1) Ban mythical "gun free zones". I would in theory be ok with a GFZ if it met certain requirements and went through some sort of inspection or certification process. The area would need to he properly protected by armed security, with police assistance near by, and the area would need to take proper measures to scan all entries into the building.
2) Taught kids in school about fire arms again. Made kids comfortable with firearms and able to treat them with respect. This would hopefully motivate more good, law abiding citizens to carry
3) Allow Constitutional carry throughout America, unrestricted (except in a few specially protected areas as noted above)
4) Encourage more people to purchase fire arms, get trained properly, and to carry them. I would be ok with programs being subsidized for low income families to recieve training and access to self defense weapons.
5) The common link with almost all mass shooters is they are almost always on SSRIs or some other psychoactive drug. We should be regulating these drugs much closer and even consider taking them off the market. they are turning people into psychotic zombies.

Ugh...they help millions and millions of severely depressed people. Even if they do cause some to flip out ( which there is zero proof of) , it's Ten a year out of all the millions saved.

Treating firearms like EVs is a novel idea.

That’s what they tell us.

I am afraid the problem is too severe for those things to work. We have deep-seated issues of alienation and division in this (no-longer-a) country. There is a profound joylessness and lack of opportunity that confronts many surplus males every day. Constant violence has become endemic to our society.

I would add that we have a complete lack of respect for humanity now. We have destroyed the family, celebrate abortion, and elevated those that do not respect their bodies. We need to bring back and celebrate a true Respect for Life.

Thinking you can stop a crazy person from killing a person is just as dumb as thinking guns are the root of this problem.

Probably not, but I wouldn't be shocked if a lot of the perpetrators were.
But it would be broken logic to see that as causative. Depressed people are far more likely to commit an act like this and they're also far more likely to be on depression medication.

7) change the definition of "mass shooting" to more than a thousand people
There, stopped it
There, stopped it

I like your points, but I think you're focus is off. Mass shootings are a fraction of the homicides committed with firearms, by focusing on those you're stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime.
Don't give in to the drama of the moment when you're trying to address a longtime problem.

Is this a dry run on your high school paper?

They're absolutely risky and anyone prescribed them needs to watched like a hawk for awhile by medical professionals. Nobody in my family prescribes them without very frequent follow up for the first months.
But for some people they are lifesaving

We're the most heavily medicated population in the world and still have the most mental health issues.
If that's not a sign of massive failure I don't know what would be...

I'm surprised the entities that establish gun free zones have not been sued when people get hurt in these zones.
