it is open source which usually means the engine/code is available online for all to see and add to the development of.
I don't know how all this works, but it feels like the Genie is already out of the bottle.

Ya, China is about to absorb trillions in capital flows as their economy is breaking and they resort to capital controls.

Not sure that they were looking to pump up their investment.
It looks like they gave away for free the tool to crash ours. They won't get ahead of us but they keep us from from quickly leaping ahead of them.

Talking about how Deepseek could pop the US AI bubble. Not sure why you think that would mean China would see trillions in capital flows. It just means AI doesn't need the billions that were invested to be effective or efficient like deepseek turned out to be

This is their play no doubt

Precisely. They spent millions instead of billions and made a product that benchmarks close to the competition.

China is doing china things. Many of their companies have filed false reports causing stock to be inflated only to be exposed. Luckin Coffee, TAL Education Group, and Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co to name a few.
I do not buy into anything the Chinese say.

, China is about to absorb trillions in capital flows as their economy is breaking and they resort to capital controls.
But the American companies will have to answer some questions as to how this was achieved with miniscule resources compared to what's been done already here

Have you seen it? Have you used it? Just saying.

yeah, looks like the strategy is not really to win, but to ensure parity.

Why would you say that? They didn't have access to the best chips. This short video clip interview with Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas sums it up pretty well.

Open source does not equal free.
It may be free in this case, but that is not what open source means.

How does anybody believe anything China says? I think this will be an overreaction and buying opportunity for the Mag7.

From what I read they were a bitcoin mining company that was told to figure out a way to make more money. They switched to developing AI using all their mining computers. I wonder if the 6 million doesn’t include the initial computer costs to artificially lower it. Plus, some people saying when prompted deep seam replies it is ChatGPT. I think they just stole ChatGPT code and optimized it
