re: Mark of the beast in our lifetime?

a one-world currency and even a mark w/o which you're not allowed to buy or sell - those things by themselves don't constitute the mark of the beast, but they may very well be the mechanism by which it's ushered in. The actual mark of the beast, and the taking thereof, will entail the recipient knowingly rejecting God and embracing Satan by so doing. It's not something the taker will "oops" their way into.

Human nature is human nature and it hasn't changed. It has nothing to do with the Bible and everything to do with greed and power.

That's where the social credit score comes in. Because being 'Christian' will be considered a "hateful intolerant" group and not allowed to use the system.

If it does happen in our lifetime, most will try to explain it away. They won’t want to believe it and that includes a lot of Christians.

The antichrist has been on earth since about 100-150CE according to the writer of 1 John.
1 John 4:3
I wouldn’t be concerned about such nonsense.

I think there are too many Christians right now to implement it smoothly. Once Gen-X is in their 80s, dying off, all that will be left in the county are the much less religious generations (millennials, zoomers, etc.)

It’s not that I don’t believe in the Bible, it’s that I don’t believe in prophecy. Believing in prophecy is for child-like minds. It’s just stupid.

Matt 18:3
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Evil has been around since the garden.
In John, Jesus says to the Jews,
quote:
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
I agree with you. The God of Israel, “YHWH”, was in the garden. He created man as a slave to work in the garden, but didn’t give him knowledge or eternal life. The tree of Knowlege and the tree of Life were forbidden fruit to man. YHWH created a slave that would die, and lied to the slave saying if he ate the fruit of the tree of knowledge that he would surely die that day.
The serpent came to help man and set the record straight from YHWH’s lies. Adam ate the fruit, became knowledgeable, and didn’t die that day but rather lived for 900 something years.
YHWH sent forth lying spirits to the mouths of the prophets, required human sacrifice of the firstborn of men and beast, and helped to erase whole ethnic groups of people from the promised land. He murdered Job’s family. He murdered Aaron’s sons. He murdered Israelite’s for worshipping him the wrong way (using the golden bull). He punished the Israelites with great plagues. He attempted to kill Moses, killed whole cities with fire from heaven, etc.
YHWH wasn’t all powerful or all knowledgeable. He was defeated by the Moabite god, Chemosh, in 2 Kings 3. He couldn’t defeat the Canaanites of the plains because they had iron chariots (presumably the Israelites had only bronze). He had to send angels to Sodom and Gomorrah to check to see if it had at least 10 righteous people. YHWH didn’t create the world, and he isn’t all knowing or all powerful or the highest god though he claimed to be. YHWH was given Israel to lord over in Deuteronomy 32:8. Some all powerful being - he had to be given a people to rule over. The leftovers - a minor group of slaves in Egypt. YHWH didn’t get a people after the Tower of Babel dispersion. He was only worthy of the scraps later.
Jesus was on to something. Jesus said we don’t have to follow YHWH’s laws. Jesus said no one has ever seen his father face to face. Jesus did know the Jewish scripture and did know that Adam, Cain, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, and many others had seen YHWH face to face. In the gospels, Jesus is not YHWH, nor is he YHWH’s son. Jesus is the son of the most high El Elyon. YHWH is the evil god who murdered children for teasing a bald prophet for being bald. Jesus healed the sick and saved children. Jesus came to save the world from the evil gods like YHWH who were ruling the world at the time.
Critically read the Bible, learn some history, and you’ll come to the same conclusion.
Then if you want your eyes to pop out, read Deuteronomy chapter 32, 1 Corinthians and 1 Thessalonians and 1 Peter and 1 John and then read a couple of texts found in Nag Hammadi. The two texts I recommend are “the gospel of Judas” and also “the Reality of the Rulers.

You really think a based 42-57 year old dude (in 2023) is going to live another 30+ years?? That is the “target demographic” for extermination today.

In regards to the mark: I don’t think it is some futurist-only thing. In the context of John’s day, it was saying that Caesar (Nero) is Lord rather than Christ in order to escape persecution. There have been periods like that throughout church history and it will continue until the end where many false Christs or governments/rulers take the authority given to them by Jesus (who is Lord of lords) and usurp that authority, requiring submission to them apart from and against Jesus.

This board isn’t a church. While his dualistic theological views are debatable, his description of the historical development of Yahweh isn’t.

quote:Everything he writes on this subject is purely heretical. His theological interpretation of the Scriptures is rooted in ignorance of the Bible and forcing anti-Christian views into the Bible where such views are not just unnecessary but are entirely contradictory to what the Bible actually says. His view of the development of the biblical God is not free from debate because it is false. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the last month showing that his interpretations are objectively false.

So as I said, he needs to give it up.

It’s only a lie to you because you haven’t read the Bible. Every single thing I mentioned is verifiable in the text of any English Bible translation.

That guy is incapable of critical thought and will deny the plain and literal meaning of sentences. He refuses to pick up a history book or a science book and prefers to live in ignorance.
