How would it work at night without large banks of batteries?

You need to have the batteries and it cam easily be done. Check out what Elon did for Australia

85%

How much gets stored in batteries?

Would you be ok with 85% of your current usage?

No.

Responding to...thoughts...like yours don't exactly take it out of me.

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything there that makes it clear she knows you can store power.

Decidedly the opposite in fact. "Sun goes down, lights go off." is what she said.

You need to look into the solar industry a little more and I think you'll find that Storing Solar power is not something we have done very well yet. Most of the solar panels you've seen in LA are not storing them but switching to the grid when solar is unavailable.

Go ahead and explain how I have to go to bed when the sun goes down.

Also, am I living off the land or just generating my own power?

You've got an internet answer for everything. You are full of shite. I want to see you're "off the grid" solar/wind/renewable setup in December WINNING. And since you can't show us that, you're entire argument here is a joke.

I have an honest question for the people on this board, if or when there is perfect affordable solar and wind energy would you want it or still resist it because it's a "leftist" idea and or policy...don't DV, answer

I have small Bluetti battery generator (564 WH) for camping. It will run a 32”TV, ICECO ice chest and some LED lights for 6 hours. To get enough power to run an entire house would cost $50K. That’s if you wanted Lifepo4 lithium.

It’s not efficient at the house level. But grid level battery facilities have been built at equivalent cost to a similarly sized gas power plant that would have enough power for the entire state of Louisiana for days even with no input.

Where did she talk about battery storage?????? Its a simple question, will solar, BY ITSELF, work at night, no battery storage, no back up hamsters on a treadmill, will solar, BY ITSELF work at night, all night, every night????

And she is the dumb one?????? Reread some of the responses.

Im surpised someone didnt say its reliable as long as you have a coal fired plant to provide electricity at night.

A 30 second google search proves her right about solar. Solar requires stored battery power or reliance on the fossil fuel grid at night. But never let it be beyond the woke, sensitive crowd to bring out sexist insults against a conservative woman for being "stupid" when they are told she is wrong about something they don't know anything about themselves.

No, not after having "green" lithium ion batteries nearly burn my house down a few weeks after Ida

On what planet do you assume he has anything better to do?

In case you haven't noticed, there are a few posters on this board who spend hours upon obsessive hours here because they are lonely and have no real life to speak of, so they shite-post all day.

If you are running your house off solar, it ain’t lasting too long once night rolls around.

This is true, I had a quote done about 3 months ago to put solar panels on my house and without the backup battery system that charges throughout the day you would have to power your house at night from your electrical provider. The backup battery system adds a lot of cost to the overall system.

Now, as far as wind, yes it doesn't stop blowing at night.

This is what I hate about our 2 party system. They are worse than a bunch of 5 year old's. Why shite on something just because those on the other side of the isle endorse it? We should be incentivizing oil companies to invest in wind and solar.

A significant portion of your time is spent following those few posters around the site. It's pathetic. You should find something better to do. Something that brings you happiness and peace.

It doesn't stop, but it generally slows down a lot.
