Pog. And why does it matter what MOS someone is?

The general is an 03 with multiple deployments over his very long and spotless career. A freaking Lance Corporal will be the catalyst that destroys his career.
He has/had the right to challenge it at court martial.
Why are you bent out of shape throwing shade at a junior enlisted warrior, even if it is ridiculous? The general will retire and still collect a pension.
I hate this shite as much as anyone, but officers and generals set these dumb policies in place, its not the lcpl underground doing it.

Right on. Right on. Sorry. As long as I hear black folk throwing the word around so casually, I know it’s not the word. And honestly, in 2020, I’m not too concerned with their feelings over a word. Not my style, but I’ve been called worse so my concern over the “n” word ( I even feel silly typing that) ranks waaaaay down the list.

That’s just not true.
You probably go most of your day without using any kind of slur.
Are you literally trying to say it’s impossible not to use slurs?

It's OK for artists to use that word for artistic purposes. It is not an offensive word in that sense. But for anyone else to use it for any other purpose even for the purpose the general was using is A-NotOK. He should have known better.

I hate to see our militray becoming so weak.

Didn’t Biden do the same years ago when he read the n-word in a quoted explanation in public? Same same.

This isn't the issue, I'm I'm pretty sure you understand that. In addition, is it a slur if there is no intent?
We are talking simply about the word being off limits. No words should be, and yet we have a growing list of words which simply can't be uttered.
It's like saying Voldemort.
I'm not advocating using slurs. The irony is I couldn't be a nicer guy and would never in a million years go out of my way to insult anyone on purpose, unless they'd earned it. I just refuse to be bullied into pretending that some words by their very existence are so dangerous that we can't see or hear them. Or worse, despite the fact that these off limit words are so dangerous, only a portion of the populace can't use them while others freely can. and worse yet, the haves and have not shift depending upon which words we're talking about. sort of an intersectionality for language usage. That's absolutely insane to me, and you've yet to make a counter argument. All you've done is suggest we ought not use them.

What if that music had the word in the lyrics or Title? For example:
What These Bitches Want From A Nigerian?
or
Uyghurs in Paris

I agree There are situations when you shouldn’t lose you job saying it.
And this seems like one of them.
I just said it’s a good rule of thumb just not to say it. This is just practical advice.
Zach asked me which slurs he could use.
The answer is clearly don’t use slurs.

Marine Maj. Gen. Stephen M. Neary, shown here as a brigadier general commanding the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force in North Carolina in 2018, was relieved of command of Marine forces in Europe and Africa on Oct. 19, 2020, as an investigation continues into allegations that he used a racial slur in front of Marines. JERED T. STONE/U.S. MARINE CORPS
The incident occurred in August on the parade field outside Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa headquarters in Boeblingen, Germany. A lance corporal who was present told Stars and Stripes that Neary used the N-word while Marines were doing physical training outdoors with loud music playing. Some of the rap music incorporated the word, which prompted Neary to ask the junior Marines how they would feel if he said it, the lance corporal said.
The Marine, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of retribution, said Black, white and Latino Marines were jolted when the general said the word. Even if Neary was attempting to be instructive about the taboo nature of the word, it came as a shock to hear it from a white general officer, the lance corporal said.
“He lost respect right there,” the Marine said.
Now if he ordered them to turn the Nword music off---- then maybe yeah.
But he looks like he has had a long career and was pointing out the disgust of the N word in the rap music. The ones that said they were offended are
