I don't use MJ, but it's not about weed it's about freedom.

Don't smoke, and think that potheads are likely one of the most wholly insufferable single-issue groups out there, but it's been proven that rehabilitation and education for those who want to clean up costs 1/10th of criminalization and enforcement.
I'm for legalization because it's a better investment of public funds.

The fact that sessions has 100% of liberals shook and a large # of trump supporters shook tells me that he was a great choice for AG

The amount of money spent fighting it and encarcerating users would save a tremendous amount of money, not to mention getting the government out of our lives and giving us one more freedom that we should have anyways. Number one issue? Probably not, but it's not a bad one either.

IDK, but a lot of employers don't want you doing it either. So will these people also quit their job if it were to become legal.
I've never been drug tested for every job I have held since getting out of college.
Ironically it was only in LA that I was drug tested.
Apparently consulting firms don't care what I do on my time off as long as it doesn't affect them- a shockingly grown up adult mentality that this govt would do well to learn.

I don't even smoke pot but I think people should be allowed to put something as harmless as pot into their bodies as long as they don't hurt others in doing so.
That wasn't the question.

Yeah, and when someone says it's not about the money... it's about the money.

But that doesn't appease statists.

Number one issue...stupid
But as others have said, it's ridicouls it's illegal. But they push oxy and other big pharm on everyone. Dumb
why not have it as the #1 issue? ... if the federal government can't get it right with something as insignificant as mj use, then why trust it with something else? ... if you can't get the small, meaningless issues right, why should we expect you to get it right with a bigger issue? ... perhaps the pubs and magas want to maintain the wod so as to insure & maintain its very, very, very successful bureaucracy ... probably a lot of magas get their income from such government largesse ... conservatism, but NOT IN MY BACKYARD!

Now ask yourself the same about alcohol and whether you would disagree with it's potential illegality or accept it without question.

Just wondering, how many people tell you to go f*** yourself a day? 20? 30? More?

So republicans should embrace freedom and let America spark it up? Let's get rid of this issue!

the medical benefits and emotional benefits of cannabis far outweigh the pros of it being illegal and carrying harsh criminal penalties.
It should be regulated like alcohol, no more and no less.

it tells a lot about a basic level of politics. It's a way for politically divided people to come together, too. I don't obsess over pot, but I don't think it's an issue to be belittled.
