I don't even smoke pot but I think people should be allowed to put something as harmless as pot into their bodies as long as they don't hurt others in doing so.

IDK, but a lot of employers don't want you doing it either. So will these people also quit their job if it were to become legal.

Basic human rights matter. Even if you don't agree with that principle, you should understand the amount of money and potential utterly WASTED by the war on drugs.

History will not look back kindly on the wod.

Of course they should. It's dumb that people can't. It's no worse than 99% of prescription drugs and it's certainly no worse than alcohol.

Does that mean this is a significant issue for America and American politics? No

but muh weed

These single issue fricks bitch about the quality of candidates not realizing that their sort of single issue bullshite is why decent people don't run for anything.

320 million fricking people, probably a thousand little pissant issues to pick from, endless bitching from some angle ALL THE GOD DAMNED TIME

I don't know why we can't get "good" candidates. The only reason most people willing to put up with such shite are willing to put up with such shite is they are looking to get paid off from it - hence "bad" candidates

It is like the whole fricking electorate is 4 year olds.

Ending the war on drugs has little to do with the value of drugs. It's about liberty (something we used to pretend we cared about) and the failure of the war on drugs

The actual ability to smoke weed is not even the major concern here. Thinking it is, is incredibly myopic

There are MANY other issues threatening our liberty if that's what you're concerned about [liberty]. Single-issue voters who care primarily about marijuana legalization are hardly concerned with liberty in a broad sense; they care about muh weed, muh hobby.

GFY - how would you feel if somebody tried to take away alcohol? That's how many (me included) feel about weed. I can't drink alcohol bc of a blood condition and strongly prefer weed anyway. Obviously I purchase weed illegally but it's legal weed purchased from CO that I am getting when I buy it which means it's safer and more affordable and amazing

Because it's discussed so heavily, it's the #1 issue to our political leanings?

I don't smoke because of my job and there's no reason whatsoever it should be illegal

Must be yuh weed you smokin

It's not so much a pot thing as it is a freedom thing. If you want smaller government being ok with recreational pot use is a natural position to take
