The deplorables are way more likely to be involved in public office than respectable people. The blue hairs, liberal arts masters degree, cat ladies, brainwashed manipulative types are just not employable in the real world, so they flood local government from top to bottom. They are less likely to have families so they have an incredible amount of free time. Universities got bloated on federal loan revenue and created bogus degree programs for undeserving people. We used to have standards, but now, the more nose rings you have, the more qualified you are, because nobody wants to argue with a mentally ill person. If we keep putting these people in charge of every aspect of our cities, there is no fixing the country. They ruin everything, push out standard American values, and brainwash the children. We need to find a way to incentivize real Americans to manage our cities. People without a home or family don't know how to plan ahead for our future.

The problem is a typical decent person from the right would not think of getting involved in political bullshite while the left considers it their highest possible calling.

We should have been building patronage systems for conservatives in our recent spells of power/mandate. People said it at the time. We didn't do it.

Anytime it comes up, the establishment wing calls it socialist.

For all of your posts I have disagreed with in the past, I couldn't agree with you more on this one.

40 years in politics, most not all are weak, selfish people who are easily swallowed up by the greed and corruption. Because the only people that pay attention to the process full time or enough time to make a difference or in it because they're getting something tangible out of it: money, power, fame, connections

But some people are called to it who really do try to do good things. I've known several of them in my life, and that keeps me trying

Not all soldiers are Audie Murphy, but the very few that are willing make a real difference.

This election will probably make obvious to is time for a sea change in republican politics. The style to date is getting stale.

The problem is a lot of new GOP candidates tried to emulate Trump and nobody can emulate Trump
Trump is Trump No one has the resources nor the history of being Trump that Trump has

I've said it before on here: the objective of the campaign is not to convince voters that the candidate is right the objective of a campaign is to convince voters that the candidate agrees with them already

Likability, approachability, or at least something sellable that resembles it

If there are good, moral people who still hold the American values close to their heart, they should ignore national political and start running and taking seats on their local school boards.

Nothing will change in this country until the schools and the minds of our children are taken back.

Forget ever seeing that change for yourself, lay the ground work for the future.

socialists understood this in the 40s, 50s and 60's. What you see today is the fruits of their labors.

and they told us they were doing it
Because of all the transgender stuff, you've started seeing families and people becoming more focused.
The problem with that is some of the people getting focused or hyper-focused on only the transgender issue, which is maybe the most important as a crisis thing but is not the issue that will make a long-standing substantial change
