He’s a fairy little progressives queeve so what do you expect? It’s like they elected ebbandflow as president.

By the way, a queeve is a pussy fart for those that don’t know.

You’re comparing a two-party dominant system to one with many political parties and run-off elections. Most French Presidents have low approval numbers.

He obviously did not anticipate the left getting pissed off by the visibility of this tax. He should have ( and probably will ) just increase the value added tax ( VAT ).

That way it is fairly invisible to the populist, the press will not report the increase and the continued march of global socialism can continue.

But it’s still a nation with a left/right spectrum

Generally speaking, coalitions form and supporters of one party will rally around the coalition government if they happen to be in power.

If you are unhappy with the polling method, a better question would be to ask French voters

“Are you happy with how France is going”?

I don’t get how you can spin it.

The French are so heavily taxed, and taxed to the breaking point, that any cost increase would break your budget.

No way to hide it.

I borrowed a car from a friend last summer, and when I went to refill the gas tank, my brother stopped me at the half way mark.

A full tank has gotten so expensive that it would it be bad manners. She would have felt awkward, because I had spent so much money.

My brother made another point when we spoke last week. Pollution is bad in Paris in the summer, and it’s mostly exhaust fumes. And it’s not from the residents, few have cars.

So this policy is probably in some ways selfish, Macron would prefer to have clean air, and it’s popular with city voters.

Sure it screws over everyone else, but for Parisians, Paris is the only thing that matters.

Yeah, that jives with what I’ve heard about Parisians from their own countrymen.

They see non-Parisians as provincial country bumpkins.

The people in Normandy were really nice, though, mainly because they still remember D Day and the allied liberation of their region.

Sure, but people still identify strongly with the political party of their choosing, not the party they supported in a runoff. And in France there are many viable parties people identify with. Roughly 40% of Americans are going to support a Republican President no matter what and roughly 40% of Americans are going to support a Democratic President no matter what. France isn’t like that.

Macron is clearly not popular in France, but comparing Macron’s approval with Trump’s approval makes no sense. It’s apples and oranges.

That’s not an indication of Presidential approval. You should look up Gallup’s right track/wrong track and see how far it lags behind Presidential approval.

He's a bitch. The globalists hate him because he agreed with trump on certain issues when he was first elected...and the regular people hate him because he seems to be sucking Merkel's hairy nipple...

Globalists don't care if he's a certified globalist now, they still hate him for being friendly with trump. Globalists hold grudges like no other group.
