Generals disagree with each other, but one thing is certain, the Challengers, Leopards and Abrams are all T72 and other Russian tank killing beasts.

I put this in another thread but it will take awhile to get there. We have to take out our top secret tech first. Then whatever support thry need in country has to be installed. Maybe someone here could expand on that. Then you have training to do. Leopard 2s can be there much more quickly. Right now they are in a bit of a pause as it is winter and mud season. Maneuvering happens when that ends

Yeah I question how they plan to maintain these things. They take weekly maintenance. I bet they won’t have a functional take from these 31 within 60 days.

They may be going but how the hell are they going to operate, maintain or fuel them. Nobody there can operate or maintain them and run off of jet fuel at 3 gallons per mile. There is no infrastructure to support this. They weigh 90K and brides or roads cannot support the weight. Poof money wasted by our government, again

They looked at how the Germans went about designing their WW2 tanks for ease of maintenance and turned it up to 11.

We were told these will be in country in “days”.

How is that even possible?

Modifying the tanks isn't really necessary - we already have motorpools full of older models that are not the latest and greatest 'top secret' stuff. Biden pledged less than 100 - I remember seeing at least that many in a mothball yard at Ft. Bliss, next to a railhead. Those things could be on a train within a week or so if they wanted to make it happen.

One positive is they were designed for Eastern Europe, so they won't be sucking sand through the turbine.

Probably some Americans will go over with tanks. For "consulting" purposes"

Where there is a will there is a way. Ukraine has the will.

According to some of the Brit military experts, a number of these beasts inserted as the spearhead with support from Ukraine T72's and such would be very effective at cutting up the Russian lines.

They aren't planning to be using them that quickly. They know that it is going to take at least 4 or 5 months to get them there, setup a training area not in UK, train UK soldiers on how to use them and also build the supply infrastructure it will take to keep them maintained.

Considering that we spend more on defense than the next 10 countries combined, why do we have such shitty tanks that need so much maintenance?

Everything needing so much maintenance is part of the reason the budget is so high.
