Do we have to math with you again?

When are you going to stop blaming Biden for Trump's failures?
Um, Biden let in over 15 million illegals. This can and will be blamed on Biden until every single one is gone, which could take decades. Maybe vote for smarter people next time???

quote:Fact of the matter is that if the Biden admin. hadn't authorized the issuance of SSNs and some states (CA, MA, MI, etc.) hadn't been issuing illegal immigrants DLs this wouldn't be an issue.
There are documented instances of the government detaining immigrants who are here legally and even US citizens. That is why people are afraid.
The dems created the problem, and then proceeded to make it as difficult as possible for LEO to fix the problem and, then, want to bitch about LEO doing what is needed to get around their obstructions... legally.

That sounds like their problem
If they’re legal then they have nothing to worry about. Unless they went through a shady labor contracting company that forged their paperwork…

"They said 'we're getting rid of the criminals,'" said Nungesser in an interview Wednesday. "These people, a lot of them have played by the rules and have a work visa and now are fearful."
So, ICE shouldn't arrest illegals because legal residents are scared stupid? That doesn't make much sense.

That's a very un-American statement by Billy if true.

I wrote our lieutenant governor the following email:
Very disappointed in your stance on the immigration sweeps in this state. You bemoan the "dozens" of phone calls from businesses saying they're having a labor shortage well why don't you tell them to hire Americans instead of illegal immigrants? I am very disappointed in your stance, this country has been overrun by illegal aliens for too long placing a major tax burden on the law-abiding citizens of this state and this country. I am all for these immigration sweeps if people were scared to go to work maybe they should stay in their home countries and work from there.
Respectfully a tax paying legal resident of Louisiana and the USA,
Choppadocta,
Jefferson Parish resident since 1969
His reply:
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your perspective. I understand we may see this differently, and I’m open to discussing it further. If you’d like to talk, please feel free to call me on my personal cell.

However, law enforcement records obtained by the Associated Press show that less than a third of the 38 arrests that occurred in the first two days of the operation involved people with criminal records beyond traffic violations.
It’s traffic violations for which they did not show up for their court date. Show up. Pay your fugging fine like citizens do.

Not just the criminals. At a minimum, we want everyone deported that flooded in during the Biden administration. Get them all out + all the criminal regardless of when they broke in, and then we can reassess.

Yet again, actual American citizens should follow the law and contest the citation or pay it. These loons think, of course, the illegals should skate because “they are uneasy”.
Next time I see a highway patrolman parked in the median, evidently I can stop and ask him to move on because he is making people feel uncomfortable as they pass.

I answered the question then you asked me to paraphrase my two sentence answer. Maybe I misunderstood your request.
Long-term structural changes. Mass deportations are useless of the same people (or others just like them) can just come here as asylum seekers again.
Under U.S. law, anyone physically present in the United States can request asylum, even if they crossed the border without permission.
This is written straight into the Immigration and Nationality Act. It’s not a loophole, it’s the actual law.
After they are screened and processed as asylum seekers, they wait 3-7 years for a court date. So we need a way to unclog these immigration courts and speed this process up, as well.
There also needs to be a feasible way for people already here illegally to obtain legal status.
Make E-verify a federal requirement of employment. Many congressional Republicans have repeatedly voted against this to appease their donors.

False. We fixed that with “remain in Mexico” during the first Trump term. But on day one the “commmpasssssionate” president flung open the gates after overriding that policy. Thus causing what we have now.

Well. As usual. You either missed or flat out overlooked the part of U.S. asylum law involves the "Safe Third Country" principle, meaning you generally must claim asylum in the first safe country you reach. So under the U.S. asylum law, we could deny asylum to central and South Americans because they didn’t seek full asylum in Mexico first.
So quoting US law, as you have, you agree that asylum seekers from Central America should be sent back to properly request asylum in Mexico. Agree?

Nope. We reinstate remain in Mexico and follow actual US immigration law.

Again. It’s already in US law that you brought up. Done.

So we find zero congressional Democrats that voted against this? 100 percent democrat buy in to it would get it done today.

It looks like we agree that Remain in Mexico (MPP) has no relevance in this discussion.

The Safe Third Country idea exists in U.S. law for countries that have agreements with the U.S., but Mexico is not currently a designated safe third country under that law. That’s why it can’t automatically be used to deny all Central American asylum seekers.

What is the feasible way for people already in the country to obtain legal status? I’m not familiar with this pathway.

Billy Nungesser was the one-time Parish President of Plaquemines Parish who used the Deepwater Horizon incident to get his name in the news. We basically keep electing this joke to the Lt. Governor's office to keep him out of the way.
