Have to agree. It’s been coming. It’s why many of us moved years ago. I tried to come back for family but found it had only gotten exponentially worse and more “diverse”. I’m sure that’s just coincidence.
LSU has decided they want to bend the knee to certain demographics and causes. Nobody should be surprised that it’s turned so trashy.
When your tax base and your cash paying customers relocate and disengage, you’re left with what you thought you wanted.
I hope it works out for them. I’ll always love LSU but my daughter wanted no part of it and I’m glad she didn’t.
I’ve moved to Florida and I can say that only when you leave and come back can you really grasp the damage that has been done to Baton Rouge by a certain demographic. It’s heartbreaking but that’s what they do. They destroy everything in their path due to learned helplessness and preoccupation with being victims to justify their crimes.

At times last night I thought we were in a strip club in the heart of Motown. It was like the “could we dance with yo dates” scene in Animal House. It’s sad that I wasn’t even surprised to hear about two shootings last night right on campus.
This year will be the end of my attending games in person

Eventually a good thing always gets screwed up.

This is nothing a good midnight basketball league can’t fix

Time to start a petition for Gov Landry to get off his arse and save LSU.

It’s an easy fix. Aggressive policing would minimize it dramatically. Unfortunately, too many are afraid of being called a racist or they are liberals and refuse to see the obvious. We are beginning to see more and more black people who are on board with heavier police presence too so maybe there is hope.

Usual terrible SFP take
BR had different demographics and was a much more decent city then

I wish it were that easy. You can stay away from them, but what happens when they won't stay away from you?

The whole neighborhood from the Chimes to down town needs to be systematically brought up and razed. It’s been a dream of mine for 3 decades.
Wasn't that the plan a few years back?
A developer had plans to buy that land and revitalize the area, but the deal fell though. I don’t remember exactly why.

Choppin Hall wasn’t very diverse in 1990, neither was the Union.

Ask Trump to send in the national guard

Here’s the danger for LSU- they won’t ever come back.
I walked away as an LSU graduate and season ticket holder in multiple sports. Hadn’t missed a football game in 25 years. Not one. Made all the road games. Bowl games. National Championship games. Had a huge tailgate with 100+ people every home Saturday.
After LSU took the position “we are a racist institution” and couldn’t explain why THEN went all in on the lierus THEN had faculty targeting students for their views with NO repercussions….i said nope.
And I don’t miss it one bit.
You make the bed you sleep in and LSU can’t reject the thuggery at this point. Embrace it. Be the ghetto you wanna be.

Pretty much where I’m at with it. It saddens me but they’ve chosen their path and their audience. I wish them well with that journey

Tix are probably cheaper since a lot of traditional fans have decided not to invest as much time and money into college sports. Obviously it's not a major % but perhaps a big enough amount to get ticket prices to go down. Especially mixed with people not wanting to go because of traffic, campus environment, etc. Definitely going to get worse when people get tired of the other stuff described like weed smell ans shootings. Lowering of academic standards is helping either.
Sad where the state of college sports is at.
