I've met some good people from Tech who are doing great things but if faced with spending 4 years of my life in Ruston, LA, I'd probably just learn a trade. I fully acknowledge that type of atmosphere/environment is beneficial for some.

Tech is a great school.

But at the end of the day it is in Ruston. That is going to keep a lid on enrollment.

Most of the moneybags for LSU will continue to pour money into the school. They won't see any sort of negative effect.

Y’all stay away from Tech. They suck. Maybe try SELU

If you're going for Nursing I agree. Otherwise Tech is miles ahead. I've had my kids attend both.

I have no dog in the hunt (Centenary grad) but living up here in North La. for over 50 years I've got a lot of experience dealing with faculty, students and facilities at Tech, ULM and NSU. Tech is vastly superior to ULM and NSU.

Well, if you want go to a larger city party school, Tech ain’t it. But if you like smaller quant towns & the opportunity to get to know a lot of people on campus and not being just a number, like you are at larger institutions...then Tech is a great choice. Ruston has come a long way too & is actually becoming a great college town.
I wouldn’t be able to stand spending 4 years in Refineryville. Even now, I avoid that shat hole if I can help it.

It’s difficult to take your post seriously with the “finna.”

I have kids at both. They will be fine.

The tech schools tend to have more engineers than liberal arts majors so the leftist loon factor is reduced.

Still, there has to be something that alumni can do to stop the Marxist take-overs of colleges.

Mid 1995, moved from LaTech to LSU. LSU was so easy, LaTech was not. Both were good, but I won’t send my children to LSU/baton rouge.
Sadly, LSU is woke and they will get broke...

I went to Tech for a summer while at LSU. Not much difference in the level of difficulty but at Tech the teachers knew your name and expected you to be there every day, which was a big change from most of my LSU classes up to that time..

I've seen girls at both schools and I would rather eat at LSU. :nana:

UNO is no longer part of the LSU System - it was moved over to the UL system in 2011.
