Rep. Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) net worth ballooned from an estimated $7 million when she first took office in 2017 to possibly more than $44 million in 2020, according to analysis from the Center for Responsive Politics and her most recent financial disclosure forms.

Depending on where she falls in the ranges in her latest financial disclosure forms, that could represent as much as a 600 percent increase in her net worth in just a few short years in Congress–a massive boom for an already-independently wealthy political scion of the powerful Cheney family which counts among its most powerful her father, former Vice President of the United States Dick Cheney.

During Cheney’s first term in office, from 2017 to 2018, her net worth grew from the 71st ($7,036,013) to the 24th ($14,710,513) wealthiest member in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Center for Responsive Politics analysis shows.

Since then, Cheney’s net worth has continued to grow–perhaps significantly. According to her 2020 Personal Financial Disclosure former, Cheney declared her net worth was estimated between $10,422,023 and $44,140,000 stemming from assets valued between $10,432,024 and $44,155,000. Cheney reported no earned income, gifts, or transactions. Yet Cheney declared she held three posts, which include a trustee position at the University of Wyoming, a member of a holding company, and what appears to be her family’s trust.

If any one of our net worth doubled that quickly, the IRS would be up our cornhole

Hillary has an outstanding course on trading cattle futures. She might have done that.

There should be forensic audit of every person who wins national office. The Senate, the House, President, Vice President and even the Supreme Court.

An audit of a few years prior to entering office, an audit during every year they are in office and an audit for at least 5 years after they leave office.

There should also be a review of all family members taxes for the same time period. Not an audit per say, but a reivew to look for dramatic increases in wealth, insider trading and influence from foreign countries.

If this deters someone running for office, then good.

I'm sure she's one hell of an author. Or painter. Or motivational speaker.

Her presumptive replacement said the same, until Cheney pissed off the cultists and Hageman saw an opportunity.

quote:

"I know that Liz Cheney is a proven, courageous, constitutional conservative, someone who has the education, the background and experience to fight effectively for Wyoming on a national stage," Hageman said in 2016. "There have been and will continue to be concerted efforts to force true conservatives to sit down and shut up. Those efforts have never worked on me and I know that they will not work on and have no effect on Liz Cheney. I am proud to introduce Liz Cheney as the next congressional representative from the great state of Wyoming."

If we only could hire enough IRS agents to accomplish this

Maybe you shouldn't spend all day on the board and people wouldn't respond to your bootlicking stupidity.

If you think that regarding Trump v Cheney that TRUMP is the bad guy, you are one dumb sombitch.

He's a Bush loving NeoCon.

In his world TRUMP is the bad guy while the people that got rich off foreign wars are the good guys.
