Trump wins on the issues aside from abortion. And abortion isn’t on the ticket. So they have nothing to talk about.
So they have to find another way to get voters to turn out. So they are trying to stir outrage and fear.

Most who listened to the comment got the point Trump was making. He's not completely wrong BTW. But he's guilty of some hyperbole on it, but largely harmless.
Landrieu's comments will be largely ignored by even Democrat voters. It's also gratuitous hyperbole. Grow up. Stop being a snowflake. He's playing politics.

Eh, blame Reagan for that. He was able to get oil prices down after the OPEC shock of the 1970s. New Orleans never really reinvented itself like Houston did.
