Could there be nondisclosure agreements she signed on the way out? It could be legit. Nobody remembers the details when they sign them and there are certainly grey areas. The lawyers could be there just to make sure she is not disclosing what she signed that she wouldn't.

Yes. She dealt with classified info, and you have to sign NDA's for that. However, I am pretty sure that this Congressional committee is cleared for classified information (not sure what level they are cleared for). So, I am not sure any NDA excuse would fly.
