Lindsey Graham question......

I was really shocked at Graham's reported worth at the time of his death, an estimated 2 million dollars.
I always assumed he was being well paid by the MIC, considering his war hawk attitude.
I understand that we have no way to know what he might have in offshore accounts, but 2 million is nothing when compared to his time in Congress and considering others in Congress net worth, especially considering the time spent.
Thoughts??

I mentioned that(in a way, with the offshore banking). Even knowing this, Im surprised his net worth was only 2 million.

Easy.
He was a true believer. Love him, hate him, feel ambivalent... but he was who he was, which surprised me greatly as I figured they all are conniving bastards.
Add that to the fact that NO one, including my liberal daughter, who's met him had a bad thing to actually say about him personally... he probably wasn't the monster some of us, including me, cast him to be.

That makes sense to me. Kinda explains why Trump respected him. I do believe Trump is a straight shooter and always wondered why he seemed so keen on Graham.

Dude loved war just for the love of the game. I am kind of curious on how much money his family members have. Maybe he kept his assets under one of their names. I never really liked the dude, but the more I have learned about him after his passing. I have come to respect his abilities as a "Politician's politician." It explains why Trump kept him in his inner circle.

By the standards of most members of Congress Lindsey Graham was poor and destitute. Compared to someone like Nancy P he was starving to death. Nancy probably spends 2 mill a month buying shoes and handbags.

People on here sometimes forget that you can disagree with some one but still respect them. Senator Graham falls in that category. His defense of Kavanaugh was epic.

Didn't he do a career as a military attorney? I am sure he got a great pension check from that. Plus his 175,000 he made as a senator. He had no dependants that I know of.

Being a "career politician" isn't a bad thing if your employers...the voters...are happy with your job performance and keep rehiring you.
There are countless numbers of police, soldiers, maintenence workers, etc who make a career living of the taxpayers' dime. Why is that a bad thing?

The dude pushed for endless war which led to thousands of people dying. Maybe he was nice enough in person, but that doesn't absolve him from his war mongering.
