I agree with him, I don't believe it was intentional.
Intention doesn't matter with the handling of classified documents though. The law is clear about that. He was extremely careless with the documents, and that alone is a felony.

If this is the new standard - I’m fine with it. Just be consistent and pardon every American who was ever prosecuted for mishandling classified info that wasn’t “sinister”.
And allow them to sue for damages.
