The problem isn't libertarian ideals, the problem is a lot voters in the Republican party are absolute retards who nominate 00's Democrats for office, then the rest of us are stuck w/ voting "for" those spineless, rudderless candidates because the current Dems are even worse.
Look in the mirror, burger bearcat.
This is (part of) the correct answer.
Additionally, the fact that in any give election the turnout for registered voters for the primaries is sub-10%, and also—yeah...way too many people are eligible to vote.
The Founders didn't set up this government with the idea that any dullard over the age of 18 who can fog a mirror gets to vote.

Why did the libertarian cross the road?
Posted on 9/12/26 at 2:21 pm to burger bearcat
frick Libertarians. I hope their “principled” stances, when they result in commies getting elected, lead to them suffering the most under those policies. All these “it’s 100% of what I want or nothing” types can frick off.

Libertarians are actually liberals in sheeps clothing. The etymology of the word clearly demonstrates this
You do realize real conservatives are considered Classic Liberals do you not? You know the classic teachings of liberalism thst our nation was founded on? The very thing conservatives would want to conserve.
You also realize that Dems are historically progessives. They rebranded themselves as liberals in the early 1900's and dumbasses, like you, bought that rebrand hook, line amd sinker.
Good job buddy.
Edit
quote:
Libertarianism has been broadly shaped by liberal ideas. Libertarians advocate the principles of equality before the law and the protection of civil rights. They generally support individual liberty and oppose authority, state power, and nationalism
The use of the term libertarian to describe a new set of political positions has been traced to a letter French communist Joseph Déjacque wrote to Pierre-Joseph Proudhon in 1857.Déjacque also used the term for his anarchist publication Le Libertaire, Sébastien Faure, another French communist, began publishing a new Le Libertaire in the mid-1890s. Libertarianism has frequently been used to refer to anarchism and socialism
You do realize there is a left and a right wing to libertarianism right? Anyone who wants little to no government is a libertarian. Have we never looked at a political spectrum chart?

Voting is not a right and never was.

GTFOH dumbass

Yeah the “principled” folks seem a bit oblivious to the fact that when a couple few of them get to boasting of their superior in every way “principles,” they fail to realize for a single moment that they’re not even on the same page with each other as to what actual “principles” they’re talking about. Each of them thinks the other has the exact same list and description of top “principles” as he or she does.

Not really.
Libertarians don't believe in things like welfare and other social things that cause immigrants to become strains on the system. Such systems promote people to come here for the purpose of collecting welfare and other benefits rather than for liberty and to work and contribute to society.
If you got rid of those things, immigration wouldn't be an issue.
I doubt many, if any, of them promote what is currently going on.
The problem with libertarians isn't at the federal level.

Theres not
Thats just your way of fooling yourself. There is a libertarian party and they have a platform. If you dont believe in on demand abortions, border enforcement, child porn, eneding the death penalty then youre not even close to being a libertarian
You guys have voted for DIMs and socialists since the 80s, and want to come on here and lecture lifelong republicans. And make up shite like Trump was a DIM. Just to make you feel better
The reason your party never got traction is because of the communists, anarchists, and socialists that hold libertarian beliefs and control of the party

Then why the hate for Trump? Because you guys are frauds
Edmund Burke was the founder of modern conservatism, not classical liberals. His viewpoints stemmed from applying Anglicanism to society rules at large
Which is the exact opposite of todays libertarians, who are mainly atheists and want no part of a religious sentiment in governing principles

You said it. Game. It's a game.
Look at the trends. Half a century split between the two parties and the direction has only been towards more government, more spending, more war, more offshoring of jobs, more importing of indentured third world labor...
You're fooling yourself if you think voting for a corporate purchased scumbag with the "R" by his name changes anything.

persecute libtards.

You just gamed yourself.
Libertarian party =/= libertarians
Be better
Be less bad
Edit = I will even post you a chart.
This is but one. Others show it flipped in one way or another, but all the same. Libertarianism is anti-statism. It is nothing else. It can be pro-socialism (a social anarcist) or pro-capitalism (an an-cap). European anarchism is social, but America had an anarchist movement at the same time and was capitalistic.
The modern Libertarian Party is somewhere just right of center and too wishy-washy for many. I test out hardcore right, but up a bit from the bottom. That would be close to a Classic Liberal.

Just gamed yourself again. You cannot "rebrand" conservatism. Conservatism is about CONSERVING the original intent of a nation's founding document. If you rebrand it, you PROGRESSED it, thereby becoming a progressive and not a conservative
This is simple
Be better
Be less bad
