Your average Karen liberal had never heard of him. Now they are all experts on his content and fascism and whatnot.

I just wanted to point that out.

Probably didn't need its own topic but this has been on my mind a few days, watching liberal family members on social media completely make fools of themselves. "Charlie Kirk condoned stoning gays". Charlie Kirk praised David Depape and urged his followers to bail him out". "Charlie Kirk said black women have underdeveloped brains".

Just bullshite after bullshite after bullshite. I don't even know how to fight it anymore. Charlie was the expert in fighting this bullshite, and he's gone.

Charlie was the expert in fighting this bullshite, and that's why he's gone.

I think the same could be said about republicans as well tbh. I think Kirk was really really popular amongst 15-25 year olds and somewhat popular amongst other ages.

Like everything else, they consume information in 20 second TikTok clips and for worldly opinions.

Nothing but losers.

You might be surprised by Kirk's reach into ages north of 25 and even well-north of 25.

I'm 57, a conservative, and really didn't know much about him.

Kirk's popularity is largely due to social media. I don't really think that's arguable as that's where almost all his content is found. That's why he was so much more popular in the younger age groups. That's not to say no one over the age of 25 was a fan of his, but I'd bet a pie chart would have the 18-25 (maybe 30) group overwhelmingly represent the majority of his following. Because this is the group that largely subscribes to youtube channels, scrolls their social media feeds all day, etc. And it's not a bad thing. Kirk was invaluable in getting young voters on the R train. Probably more influential for that age group than anyone on the planet.

The people with the skin in the game have to wait around for other people to do stuff for them. It really sucks

You might be missing the point of the OP.

That aside, you can still catch up to who he was and what his impact has been for the last decade or so. You’ll be better for it if you do.

Hmm, maybe that's why black men won't marry them.

I know it’s easier said than done, but don’t get discouraged. I have waves of feeling like this. Unfortunately there isn’t going to be anything “quick” with any sort of response. Stuff is happening so I would say try to focus on your abilities locally. Everyone (including myself) feels like they have to run out and start an organization like Charlie to make a difference. But that’s not true. Just don’t stay silent or give up

I'm not connecting dots where there are none, but I find it to be odd that shortly before Charlie was assassinated, he was reluctant to talk about what he said Israel planned to do, an "ethnic cleansing" in Palestine.

Odd, indeed.

I don't disagree that Kirk was more influential for young voters than probably anybody on the planet, but I think he was pretty well-known by older voters. Maybe I need to phrase that "politically aware" older voters, as a lot of people check into politics for about a month every four years. He was well-known and discussed in these threads, for example. He was also a large/powerful figure within the political class.

they still don't, all they know is the MSM is telling them he was a bad guy and they regurgitate what they're fed

they don't have the capability to think for themselves, it's a hive mind

This represents the majority of people TBH. Young people who aren't even all that politically aware were still aware of Kirk because he's all over social media
