So basically we're woke and changing our name and going sue some Black struggling singer who can't afford lawyers like ours so we can use her name to prove we're woke.

So... the band changed their name because they didn't want to be offensive to black people and are now going to sue a black woman because she is going by the name (for over a decade) that they are changing their name to?

Apple Computer was sued by Apple Records(The Beatles Recording Company) over the use of the Trademark Apple.
In the agreement Apple said they would never enter the music business.
Apple settled out of court for around 100k.
Fast forward in history, Apple starts iTunes. Apple records sues them again and gets 500 million.
I hope the poor "jazz singer" bankrupts them.

Lady A (the black singer, not the SJW pop/ country group) got some outstanding legal advise. Black Lady A has no rights whatsoever to the name if Lady Antebellum trademarked it. Any financial offer was done as a courtesy- they didn't have to pay her a dime....now she won't even get said dime. Well played black Lady A 
But to her credit, it would be easy to think silly things like "trademark infringement" wouldn't apply to her in this day and age...with her being black and all.

What state are they from? Call yourself Lady Statename and be done.
Suing a black woman for rights to her name that she has used for years is about the only way you could frick this up. The same PR people they consulted for a change in the first place should have handled the rename.
