Indeed.
So do you even know what Valerie Jarret looks like?
Seriously, any idea?

Better than that, here are Roseanne and Jarrett side-by-side.
Which one looks more "black"?

But Roseanne would definitely be in the knows
Yeah Einstein?
Because, after all, every human on the planet outside of this board knew.
Right?

Of course she's going to say she thought she was white

Perfectly explains the Muslim brotherhood reference too right? Because I don't know about you NC, but the first thing I think of when someone says Muslim brotherhood is white women.

Sure

Which is part of why this is so ridiculous

If you're a white person in the modern era using antiquated racial references from slave days you can expect there to be some consequences. Whether you agree with it or not society doesn't tolerate comparing blacks to primates

My point was directed at the guy saying it "wasn't all that long ago". Maybe in the context of history, 155 years isn't all that long, but when something happened 6 generations ago, it's time to let it go and stop blaming people who are alive right now for it.

You do realize that no one in here believes you when you claim you think it's impossible to have not known VJ had black in her, right?

I mean, we know it's a contrarian shtick. You realize that, right? Please tell me you realize that.

By the way. ISWYDT

You're trying to switch off of, "of course you should know she's black" to "thought she was white".

We see that too man. Sheesh

He's doing the P'man thing now.

He's just going to pretend that silliness never happened. Now, he wants to pivot to the "thought she was white" party without every acknowledging that his assertion that you HAD to know she was black was a moornic assertion.

No

I don't think about women at all

But if I did it certainly wouldn't be white women

If you thought someone was white would muslim brotherhood be in part of your description?

I know that when I look at this pic, I think, "well, obviously black".

LOL.

A dude in the KKK could date this shite for MONTHS without knowing.

You have gone out of your way to defend the illogical double standard of the faux outrage.

Sorry. No pivoting allowed.

You claimed it was impossible to not know she was black.

I know you want out of that.

Sorry.

Not gonna happen.

I was referring to the brotherhood comment, which would imply male gender.

The problem is that ideas can last centuries or thousands of years. They can be forgotten, revived, changed, completely abandoned, etc. By their very nature, they can be eternal.

I do agree with you bringing up the past can be self-defeating, but the context matters. I disagree with the hypersensitive racial environment because I think it's predicated on something that doesn't exist (institutionalized white supremacy). Nonetheless, the racially charged sociopolitical environment IS here. If you want to make good change, you have to appear sincere. Tweets like Roseanne's are a mistake and she recognizes that. It's easy to make the connection from the past to the present.

There is no reason at all to defend her here

Not really

If you're outraged over someone getting fired for tweeting about black people looking like an ape then you might be a dumb arse

Not that this is the only one but really dude?

If people are saying they didn't know that she was black they're lying.

I'll happily discuss other shite if you like.

But, we're gonna need a mea culpa first.

I would say most people are lying if they're saying that to try to make some sort of political point

I never did say that it was "impossible" to not know she was black

You guys are fricking clowns

Sheesh man. Just stop crawfishin.

The woman doesn't look remotely black in tons of her pics.

Says the guy who says it is NOT saying it's impossible if you claim that anyone saying they didn't know is lying.

Dude. Do you EVER just fricking man up and say, "yeah, OK, I overstated"...........and to use your words..........
