I'd like some evidence beyond 'it's fantasy because I said so'

Also not holding my breath on the DOD cuts either because someone named Elon has the DOD increasingly by the balls on the use of Starlink...

We found the person (female, likely) who works at the CDC (BamaATL, likely).
Yep, he/she's rooting hard for the CDC in an attempt to justify the bloat that this agency has carried for years.

No one is advocating shutting down the CDC or research entirely, just cut the fat off and operate with a leaner, trimmed down contingent.

Might be because of idiots banding together thinking they know better than infectious disease scientists and taking medicine designed for horses but hey just a weird observation

And covid, is that a parasitic disease?

You referred to ivermectin as horse medicine, I said nothing about Covid-19, I'm telling you ivermectin is used extensively by doctors to treat parasites and disease in humans.

CDC is something like $9-10 billion in the latest federal budget...

DOD is $1.3 trillion...

Elon is looking in all the wrong places

Right, when prescribed... no issue with that. I have issues with morons going down to the ag store and buying horse paste because their facebook friends think they know better than doctors

The CDC STILL recommends giving 6 month olds a vaccine that 1) doesn't work, 2) that has known negative impacts for younger people 3) for an illness that doesn't meaningfully impact the age group

forgive me if I'm just not that interested in the rants about ivermectin

Covid demonstrated that when the country actually needed guidance and information related to a pandemic, the CDC failed in amazing fashion. You could cut it down 75% and no lose an essential duties.

I'm actually fine acknowledging that the CDC was grappling with the unprecedented/unknown

But there has to be public accountability on the back end and I haven't seen anything meaningful.

Because it's nuts that people go to the ag store to take things not prescribed and risk overdose and death as opposed to seeking professional help... that's what's stupid... if you have a parasitic infection that requires ivermectin to treat, the doctor will prescribe that.... with an appropriate dose that will not kill you, whereas if you take half a tube of horse dewormer with a totally different, not designed for humans dose, you could end up comatose

If it's so dangerous, why is it available over the counter at the hardware store? Shouldn't you need a script from a vet for such a dangerous drug to treat your horse?

It wasn’t that unknown. We knew rough CFRs were under 1% before it made it to the United States.

We knew that it didn’t really affect teens and children.

We knew that steroids and anti-inflammatories were good treatments.

We knew that the average course of the disease was ~15 days from infection (even at the worst).

And yet the CDC pretended like they didn’t know all these things because they wanted to play pandemic.

But the CDC had an issue with it when it was prescribed. So you disagree with the CDC. Why do you hate science? Dumbfrick.

Final summary:

Ivermectin is appropriate for parasitic infections in doses designed for human consumption when prescribed by a medical professional

Ivermectin is not a treatment with any proven effectiveness against COVID19

Ivermectin veterinary paste is not designed for human consumption and overdoses can potentially result in coma or death

Preventing excess deaths from preventable diseases (measles, pertussis, etc) by the administration of functional vaccines is good for America.

The CDC budget in 2025 is $9.6 billion, amounting to 0.1% of the federal budget.

The DOD budget in 2025 is $1.3 trillion, amounting to 18% of the federal budget.

I would argue if you are going to squeeze waste and bloat out of government agencies, I'd look for the most bang for buck.

Are there unnecessary people in the CDC? Sure.

Is there more waste at DOD? Almost certainly.

Bottom line: Stop eating horse paste, start investigating Northrop Grumman.
