A Russian ballistic missile attack on Kyiv. Once again, no early warning from our partners. The main target was energy infrastructure, specifically CHPP-4. Unfortunately, it was hit. A residential building was also damaged, and rescuers are currently putting out a fire there. Our systems detected these missiles only when they were already virtually on approach to Kyiv. CHPP-4 is one of Kyiv’s key energy facilities.

According to our intelligence, the Russians are preparing further ballistic missile launches. The facts show that the Russians do not consider themselves bound by what the President of the United States said. Ukraine supported an energy ceasefire. Russia is targeting yet another power plant and the lives of our people.

And this is absolutely unjust: when they are destroying our energy infrastructure, and Ukraine is not even receiving early warnings about ballistic missile launches. It is important that the world does not stay silent about this. And it is important that the United States really see what is happening and who is responsible for this war continuing.

Please stay safe tonight and tomorrow. We are working to replenish our air defenses with anti-ballistic missiles.

NATO says the Ukraine killed 50k Russians last month:

Russians lose around 1500 people a day - NATO and Bloomberg

That would make it the deadliest month in the war, and that comes as the Russians are being pushed back.

Anybody still think the Russians are taking the Donbass?

Confusion abounds this morning. To add to this, it seems the Starlink connectivity in Ukraine is being questioned.
quote:

Last ??night, the operation of Starlink terminals in Ukraine was restricted.

Connectivity began to drop when moving at speeds exceeding 160 km/h. As a result, a number of critical missions were disrupted.

SpaceX likely took these measures at the request of the Trump administration.
quote:

Zelenskyy tech advisor confirms: “I confirm that SpaceX implemented a speed limit for Starlink terminals while in motion last night. Currently, the restriction applies to the StarShield “military package” of services and is set at 100 miles per hour.”

Lots of assumptions about Starlink speed limitations at this time but we do have this -
quote:

Starlink says that Roam and Priority plans have a maximum supported in-motion speed of 100mph-160km/h-87 knots, effective March 3, 2026.
LINK

But further digging unveiled that there are two systems - Starlink for civilian use and Star Shield for military. Starlink's speeds have been limited to the 160km/hr but certainly not StarShield. LINK

So the question is - has Musk cut off Ukraine's access to StarShield?

Everyone, take a deep breath.

FP-1 is not dependent on Starlink/StarShield
FP-2 cruise speed is just below the restricted speed
FP-5 doesn't rely on Starlink/StarShield
Hornet's cruise speed is just below the restricted speed

Any long-range drone that strikes within Russia's 1991 borders has zero dependency on Starlink or StarShield because they're already geofenced from operating in Russia.

Ukraine strikes a Russian refinery in Novoshakhtinsk (Rostov Oblast) once again tonight, particularly targeting the fuel depots. For those who will bring up Trump's ceasefire, let's just recall that Russia struck the Kharkiv ???-5 and Kyiv ???-4 thermal power plants these past two days.

More on last night's attack.
quote:

Tonight, drones hit Sberbank Mega Data Center in the special economic zone near Balakovo.

As of today, construction at the facility is not fully completed, the data center is gradually expanding, the Russians planned to make it the largest data center in Europe by 2030.

The services of the single state digital platform "GosTech" are deployed on the basis of this data center. The information systems of all federal departments, ministries and regional authorities in the Russian Federation are being forcibly transferred to "GosTech". This means that the data center servers are involved in the collection, processing and storage of state registers, data on mobilization resources, logistics and critical infrastructure.

I haven’t posted in awhile because it seems the information landscape has deteriorated to such a significant degree that none of the mappers seem to know (or be willing to publish) what the hell is going on.

Currently, the restriction applies to the military StarShield service package, with a speed limit of 100 miles per hour.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces received no advance warning about this restriction, which resulted in the disruption of several missions.

It is obvious that this action cannot be a coincidence and is connected to the current political situation» -

The 3rd Army Corps and attached units have freed three more settlements - Zelena Dolyna, Lypove, and Kolodiazi. During the fourth stage of "Vivaldi," Russia lost nearly 3,000 soldiers.

Throughout the entire operation, Ukrainian Warriors have restored full Ukrainian control over 16 settlements and liberated 277 km². Russian losses stand at over 8,000 personnel.

"Liberated 277 square kilometers during the entire operation". So that would be an area roughly 10x30 kilometers or roughly 6 x18 miles. That's pretty insignificant, maybe 25% of the surface area of the average Louisiana parish.

I wish we could quantify the dollar value of the information we've been giving Ukraine since before Russia even invaded. I believe it would be staggering.

Only said this a few days ago and seems even more relevant now

You are right it is not all that much real estate but what Ukraine did manage to do is indefinitely delay the Russian advance on Sloviansk while forcing Russia to expend resources to defend their positions which in the context of the overall war is very significant.

Epstein Rules. Putin is in complete control.

quote:

“Putin is not simply attacking Ukraine. He is openly defying the United States and treating every attempt to stop this war with contempt.”
quote:

It would only be "defying" the United States if the United States were threatening to do something about it. Instead, Trump is making excuses for Putin.
quote:

WSJ today had a story about the Houthis building a new missile with Chinese parts. Russia is resupplying missile stocks directly to Iran to compensate for the ones the U.S. destroyed or damaged. And Russia's provision of intel to the IRGC for targeting U.S. forces in the Gulf comes from Trump's own intelligence community.
quote:

Putin has delivered yet another negative “response” to the proposal of an energy ceasefire announced by President Trump and supported by President Zelenskyy.

Instead of one “yes” to peace efforts — 39 missiles and more than 120 drones. Cynically, the main targets of this strike were Ukraine's energy objects.

It is tactically significant, and over the last few months Ukraine can boast that they have gained more territory than they have lost; which has political significance too.

But in the big picture, will it lead to more Ukrainian gain? That remains to be seen.

Or maybe it's because the guy publishing the most commonly posted map on this board is in jail in Montenegro for trying to de-stabilize entire countries....

Starlink connectivity at speeds of up to 160 km/h is being restored.

Removing Starshield’s speed limit entirely is now critical for Ukraine’s defense.

Thank you,

. We hope for your continued support.
