No, I'm just not as disgusted at Elon's BS.

I won't be happy until Russia has been defeated, this war is over, and his pawn in the White House has been brought under control.

Things are at least moving in the right direction....

Starlink connectivity at speeds of up to 160 km/h is being restored. Removing Starshield’s speed limit entirely is now critical for Ukraine’s defense. Thank you, @elonmusk . We hope for your continued support.
Much better news. We await developments on StarShield.

Speaking of which, let's take a moment and get in front of something. In examining this issue today, I have noticed a persistent theme in the Comments sections of many threads - it is repeatedly stated that StarShield is not owned by SpaceX (Musk) but by the US Government. Thus Musk is described as blameless for the current StarShield issues.

This is total bullshite. Both Starlink and StarShield are owned and controlled by SpaceX. But this disinformation is so consistently posted that I suspect Musk has his trolls out to defend his uh, reputation. An effort which accurately fits the level of social skills possessed by Space Karen.

So be forewarned.

Starshield is a division of SpaceX's Starlink subsidiary creating purpose-built low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellites designed to provide new military space capabilities to U.S. and allied governments.

Starlink, the commercial satellite internet service, is available to government customers, including through resellers and a General Services Administration contract vehicle. SpaceX says that Starlink is not designed for military end users or end-uses and that it is the “recommended product” for U.S. civil, state, and local government agencies.

Starshield, meanwhile, is designed for U.S. national defense use cases for both the DOD and some other government partners, according to SpaceX. The Starshield internet network also appears to be related to other aspects of SpaceX’s defense business, including military satellite launches.

There it is, directly from the source. Bald faced lie. If true, let's see the US Gov't. budget document supporting this.

Of all of the good things Trump has done to set America back on a sane course, his weakness for Putin and his invasion of Ukraine is insane.

After looking into the whole situation more and seeing the reactions from the NAFO crowd and Ukranians online, I hope we just shut everything off. At least until Z is out of power. No Starlink, starshield, no Intel, nothing. Don't spend a cent on these people anymore if they don't have the least bit of gratitude for it. We are not "partners", you are a beneficiary of our generosity and mine has run out on the Zelensky admin.

17 killed and Trump turned off Starlink. No one knows what would have happened if we hadn’t, but why put innocents at risk?

But some here support this! Why?

So the US should continue to provide intel so cargo pants can kill innocent refinery workers in Russia?

I thought all you guys cared about was diesel prices that the midget is causing to rise globally thanks to his puppet masters in the EU.

Its despicable some of you still support this idiot who will let his people die rather than end this.

Star link was enabling the Ukrainians to defend themselves. Cutting them off from Starlink enabled Putin to kill innocent civilians, but I bet you knew that.

Diesel is sky high because of the Iran situation. You should have known that too.

Crazy ignorant talk about Trump. He's actually doing the right thing for the US. Eurotrash get phucked. They cry that the US is militaristic or that the US is not doing anything.

Why hasn’t Ukraine invented a better Starlink yet?

I thought they’re like the smartest people ever. Where’s CitizenK with his cutting edge technology?

The next US president should nationalize starlink and SpaceX with a tweet.

Both are critical to US defense and should be under defense control.

I have no problem with that. Pay the man and control if.

But they should help Ukraine defend their cities.

Additional news and clarity on the StarShield issue.

First, a mea culpa -
quote:

While Musk owns SpaceX which controls Starlink systems and can impose restrictions on them in Ukraine, those that began overnight are on the Starshield military version of the system controlled by the Pentagon. This suggests the decision to limit the speed of the Starshield systems was made within the Trump administration.
quote:

SpaceX publicly unveiled Starshield in December 2022, but the classified work started at least two years earlier, when the company began designing customized satellites for the National Reconnaissance Office. By mid-2026, Starshield has 245 satellites in orbit, more than $9 billion in identified contract value, and a revenue run rate that grew 80% year over year. It is SpaceX’s fastest-growing business segment. It is also the one the company can tell you the least about.
quote:

The critical distinction: the US government owns and controls Starshield satellites. SpaceX builds and launches them, but operational authority transfers to the customer agency.

Ok, why was this so confusing? Two reasons. Firstly, the budget was secret:
quote:

The SpaceX S-1, filed publicly on May 20, 2026, disclosed Starshield revenue as a top-line segment number: approximately $1.8 billion in fiscal year 2025. Detailed margins were, in the filing’s own phrasing, “partially redacted or aggregated to protect national-security customer pricing.” The unredacted version of the S-1 sits in a classified vault inside the SEC’s Washington headquarters, readable by roughly 12 people with security clearances.
Secondly, although the primary use of StarShield for the Ukrainians is for guidance of defensive anti-drone weapons over Ukraine and the occupied territories, other uses are available in the war against Russia. Whether these applications were used or not isn't the point, just the unveiling of these capabilities would certainly fuel the NATO Vs. The Motherland narrative, so needed to be kept confidential.

So, although Trump clearly stated on Oct. 11 that US intelligence has not been cut off, the US media is contradicting this -
quote:

The U.S. may have deliberately withheld early warnings of Russian missile strikes on Ukraine that killed six people and left 600,000 without power, - CBS News

And clearly something happened to negatively effect StarShield the next day.

So who's actually responsible? This news item from yesterday tells us all we need to know:
quote:

Washington Post: U.S. intelligence officials warned the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington that if there are more strikes on Russian energy sites, the U.S. would immediately halt all intelligence sharing.

“The warnings were so widespread that anyone with a Ukrainian-sounding last name got a call,” a person familiar with the matter said. Others in the Ukrainian military also were called.

So the fact that the White House is being dishonest is not news, but the timing couldn't be worse. For both the Ukrainian defenses and Trump's efforts for the midterm elections.
quote:

Trump is playing Russian roulette three weeks before the congressional elections, betting on Putin, whom even his own voters detest.

American attitudes toward Putin make this bet especially risky. According to a January YouGov poll, 81% of voters who voted for Trump in 2024 have an unfavorable view of the Russian president.

The price of this political roulette could be high: the loss of the Republican majority in Congress could paralyze Trump's legislative agenda and pave the way for years of investigations into his administration. - Axios

So finally, with all this misery, who benefits? Putin, of course. But his desperation to save the Russian economy is causing him to overplay his hand. He is burning Trump three weeks before the election.
