Brussels is freezing the money to prevent it from being stolen after the election. Orban is still down by double digits in legitimate polls.
Vance has announced he's visiting Orban in support April 6-7. The polls on this are evenly split as to whether this will help or harm Orban's campaign. Americans swooping in to tell Europeans how to run their governments have not done too well in the past. But hey, maybe Vance's famous personality will break the mold.

The Ukrainians have chronic personnel shortages and yet the Russians still can’t do jacks!t against them.
A year from now the Ukrainians are still going to be shorthanded and the Russians are still going to be screwing it up.
Eventually they won't if Russian recruitment can stay at or above casualty levels.
And before someone with half a brain cell left goes 'but derr ekonomee" yes if the economy tumbles recruitment will also tumble as a downstream effect.

Russia’s oil exports plummet to historic low amid Ukrainian drone strikes, Reuters reports
March 25, 2026 9:52 pm
About 40% of Russia’s oil export capacity has been halted amid Ukrainian drone strikes, pipeline damage, and tanker seizures, Reuters reported on March 25.
The outages have disrupted shipments from major Baltic and Black Sea ports.
The disruption comes as global energy markets are already under strain due to the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, which has pushed oil prices above $100 per barrel.
“This is the most serious disruption to oil supplies in Russia's modern history – the world's second-largest oil exporter – and it has hit Moscow just as oil prices have exceeded $100 a barrel due to the war with Iran,” Reuters reported.
Loadings at Primorsk and Ust-Luga, Russia’s two largest Baltic oil ports, were suspended again after recent attacks caused fires and damage to infrastructure, while the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk is operating below schedule following earlier strikes this month.
Russia’s pipeline exports to Hungary and Slovakia via the Druzhba pipeline have also been largely halted since January, due to damage sustained in Ukraine following a Russian attack.
As a result of the strikes and pipeline disruptions, roughly 2 million barrels per day — about 40% of Russia’s oil export capacity — is currently out of operation, Reuters reported.

Shadow fleet set to be interdicted in UK waters in latest blow to Russia
British military will be able to board shadow fleet vessels transiting UK waters as the UK steps up its pressure on Putin.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said:
We are living in an increasingly volatile and dangerous world, facing threats from different fronts across the world every day.
As Prime Minister, my first duty is to keep this country safe and protect British interests here and abroad.
Putin is rubbing his hands at the war in the Middle East because he thinks higher oil prices will let him line his pockets. That’s why we’re going after his shadow fleet even harder, not just keeping Britain safe but starving Putin’s war machine of the dirty profits that fund his barbaric campaign in Ukraine.
He and his cronies should be in no doubt, we will always defend our sovereignty and stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.

Yes, IF.
And recently I’ve read that it hadn’t; thus the need for Putin to change some laws.
The war had gone on for four years and a month, and the thought that Russia is going to use their numbers to crush the Ukes has not materialized. Sending raw troops to the front has not paid off.

Kyiv Independent Receives Politiken Freedom Prize for Fearless Journalism
March 26, 2026 3:01 pm
Politiken, one of Denmark’s leading daily newspapers, has awarded the Kyiv Independent the Politiken Freedom Prize.
The award is presented annually to extraordinary individuals or institutions that defend freedom rights under risky circumstances worldwide.
"Winning the Politiken Freedom Prize is an honor and a testament to the dedication of the entire team to our shared values. It underscores the critical role independent journalism plays in protecting freedom of speech in times of war and presents us with another chance to speak about Ukraine from a stage," said Daryna Shevchenko, CEO of the Kyiv Independent. "It is all the more meaningful to receive this recognition from our excellent colleagues in the field."
The Kyiv Independent was co-founded by a group of journalists who were fired from a prominent newspaper after its owner attempted to take control of the newsroom and end its critical coverage of Ukrainian authorities. Instead of giving up, the dismissed team founded a new media outlet to carry on the torch — and be a truly independent voice of Ukraine.
Just three months after the Kyiv Independent was launched, Russia invaded Ukraine. The team stayed in Ukraine and continued reporting on what had become a full-scale war against their country. The Kyiv Independent vowed to uphold the principles of honest journalism even under fire. Today, it is a go-to source for policymakers, fellow journalists, and readers worldwide, reaching millions concerned with the current state of the world.
Politiken’s Editor-in-Chief Christian Jensen emphasized that the Kyiv Independent’s commitment to independence sets it apart: “In war, truth is usually the first casualty. But The Kyiv Independent bucks the trend — standing tall and delivering investigative journalism of international caliber. They describe how Russian forces kidnap and re-educate Ukrainian children. At the same time, they manage to produce critical journalism when Volodymyr Zelensky makes interventions in anti-corruption efforts. It speaks to great courage, fearlessness, and journalistic integrity that is truly exceptional.”

They’ve been above it for four years now, Vol, and they couldn’t do squat. You think something is going to change now???
The Ukrainians have now neutralized Russia’s only real remaining advantage. I’d argue it’s now a real possibility that Ukraine can actually‘win’ this war, depending upon how you define ‘win.’

Nothing is changing at all for me. I've been singing the same time for years, I think Russia will eventually outlast Ukraine because they will keep throwing bodies at them until Ukraine either doesn't have enough bodies to counter or is at a point where they would rather take a bad peace than not be a country anymore. Myself and Darth have been saying the entire time that we think it's a war of attrition. Until we see months of Ukraine making gains or the Russian economy actually collapsing I don't see a reason to change my opinion that this will be a slog and then eventually a lot will happen in a short period of time.

Well yeah if we change the definition of things, anything can be anything. Great observation as usual.

They can still tap into younger age brackets that would keep the age down but yeah you might see 18 year olds and 50 year olds side by side. Probably see that in Russia too.

BREAKING: DNI Tulsi Gabbard has reportedly learned that U.S. intelligence intercepted plans by the Ukrainian government to funnel hundreds of millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to support Biden’s 2024 campaign against Trump and the DNC, according to Just The News.
Cool story dude, wake us up when Tulsi Gabbard produces some evidence. Any. Evidence.

Well, they finally got that warm water port...
NOVATEK is the second largest natural gas corporation in Russia. After Gazprom. Oh, wait... maybe now it's the largest. Or was? Hard to keep score when they lose capacity every night.

You shouldn't need any help waking up. You either don't have any problem waking up at 3am to spam this thread first thing in the morning or you're on some European time. I'll guess the latter.
