Now, Rubio is denying what he told Senators a few hours ago:

Rubio apparently wanted everyone to know that he had nothing to do with this, but this looks bad.

Overview and Capacity

The Shatura Power Plant was originally built in 1925 and initially operated on peat; it now primarily uses natural gas, with supplementary use of fuel oil and coal.

The total electrical capacity is 1,500 MW, and it is a Combined Heat and Power facility, meaning it supplies both electricity and thermal energy at high efficiencies.

It is considered one of the largest power stations in Russia and accounts for approximately 6% of electricity production for the Moscow region.

Defence Forces hold positions in central Pokrovsk and liberated railway station and pedagogical college form Russian troops

23.11.2025 12:30

The Defence Forces are holding positions in the centre of Pokrovsk and have cleared the areas of the railway station, the pedagogical college, and Sobornyi Square of enemy forces.

As reported by Ukrinform, the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, providing an update on the situation in the Pokrovsk agglomeration as of 10:00 on 23 November.

Ukrainian troops are holding back the enemy and conducting search-and-strike actions to eliminate Russian forces in Pokrovsk.

Positions of the Defence Forces remain in the city centre, small-arms combat continues, and the enemy has been unable to gain a foothold.

Assault groups continue to be deployed to eliminate the enemy in the city centre, operating in coordination with other units within the responsibility zone of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the AAF.

In particular, in recent days, the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skala” has carried out clearance operations in the areas surrounding the railway station, the Pokrovsk Pedagogical College, and Sobornyi Square.

This made it possible to block attempts by Russian forces to concentrate their troops as they unsuccessfully tried to increase pressure on the northern part of the city. Whenever they attempt to move into the northern part of the city across the railway line, the enemy suffers maximum losses.

Overall, since the beginning of November, Ukrainian forces have eliminated 388 invaders in Pokrovsk, with another 87 wounded.

A look back at newspaper articles in Russia before 2022. It's obvious that Putin wanted Ukraine, along with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, etc... to be under Russian rule.

Again, here's the accurate description of this whole 'peace plan' fiasco -

quote:

It appears that somebody instructed Marco Rubio to go along with the story unfolding and it looks to me that this resulted from the following chain of events. I will lay it out here:

Everything points to the direction that Witkoff and Kirill Dmitriev were hammering out this 28 point surrender paper, without informing the US Secretary of State or the Ukrainian government. It contains primarily Russian wishes and unrealistic Russian demands, but Witkoff basically took them over in the list.

Kirill was then leaking this Russian wishlist to Axios, well-knowing what it is. Witkoff basically confirmed.

The intent followed two objectives. First, maximalist wishlist of the Russian should be engraved cognitively in media sphere for everyone before any pushback occurred.

Two, it should test the US government how it would react to the backlash which will inevitably follow. Rubio unaware of the contents of the talks was then confronted by a bipartisan group of US Senators and gave them his answer, which at this moment was truthful.

The senators then went public quoting Rubio: “It is not our recommendation, it is not our peace plan.” At this point the US officials in the Trump administration must have started to realize that something is going wrong. As intended the leak totally blind-sided them.

They completely lost control of the situation, but grudgingly decided to go along with it. Rubio was then compelled to go public and claim that it was indeed the plan, while watering down that it yet just the Russian side, with some previous input from Ukrainian side.

This is my assumption based on facts I see so far.

This whole episode reveals that the current US negotiating team is completely out of its depth and that people involved in this „negotiations“ are absolute amateurs to say the least. [That's because they were chosen by the Russians.] Ukraine is well advised to push back hard and not leave any doubts that this surrender paper is dead in the water by countering it with a new peace proposal.

To repeat, from an earlier post - Weiss -

quote:

Several things can be true at the same time:

1. Witkoff and Dmitriev cooked up a Kremlin wish-list to show the Ukrainians, and Dmitriev got feisty and leaked it prematurely to make it manifest, sensing Zelensky was too weak to say "no."

2. Trump told Witkoff, "Great job, Steve, keep it up, I'm with you all the way," without knowing the full details or anticipating what a shite show would ensue or appreciating just how unworkable this thing is. (He may have even been encouraged by Kushner in this respect; Jared believing he's Kissinger after Gaza.)

3. There is now a mad dash to accelerate a "framework" or "draft" or "living document" or "blueprint" written in invisible ink into a codified peace plan before Santa comes down the chimney because everyone with two IQ points in the administration and on the Hill is trying to find out just what the frick is going on and how to stop it.

4. The Europeans are getting ready to visit "Daddy" again to talk some sense into him.

5. Official Moscow is hanging fire, waiting to see what happens now that Kirill has tossed a grenade into the works.

6. Rubio is hanging fire, waiting to see what happens now that Dim Philby has stepped on his own crank again.

7. This all ends in tears.

8. We'll do it all over again in three months.

"8. We'll do it all over again in three months." Exactly. By my count, this is the third time Witkoff has been roped into presenting the Russian demands as a joint US - Russian peace plan and trying to intimidate Kyiv into acceptance. In an incredibly tight contest with major competition, Witkoff takes this year's Useful Idiot Prize of the Year. And this is TACO's Special Representative.

Finally, Weiss is right. We will see this whole dog and pony show again in three months. Get ready for it so we don't waste so much time getting excited about it again.

Psychopaths are easy reads. When acting indirectly, psychopaths mimic empathy. But when acting directly, they only possess one behavior - manipulative intimidation. We will see this peace plan coercion over and over simply because they are incapable of any other approach.

Additional footage of the drone attack on the Shatura Power Plant (Shaturskaya GRES) in the Moscow region of Russia.
The good news is that being so close to Moscow, we have many many tasty videos of the explosions and blast mushrooms.

The bad news is that an argument has developed among the judges of the Bavovna of the Week© contest as to which blast is the best. But unlike other subjective judging [coughOlympicscough], there are no fat envelopes under their chairs this time. So the announcement may be delayed this week.

Another great Perun sober assessment for both sides. Note somewhere after halfway point how it was expected that Russia would encircle the entire front with 3 separate pincer movements to take the majority of everything east of the Dnipro.by the end of 2022.

Near the end of the video, it also notes how corruption has decreased in Ukraine since 2022 while it has gone up in Russia

All of that large caliber shooting into the air makes me wonder how many people on the ground get randomly hit.

Yes, Ukraine very much wants to economically aligned with the EU and not broke-arse Russia. The EU's per capita GDP is several times that of Russia's.

United24Media: Russia Rejects Trump’s Peace Plan, Says Only Full Military Victory Over Ukraine Is Acceptable

A senior member of Russia’s State Duma has dismissed the 28-point peace plan recently proposed by the United States to end the war in Ukraine, describing it as a “provocation” and contrary to Russian interests.

Zhuravlyov argued that Washington’s objective was to preserve Ukraine as a permanent strategic threat to Russia.

“Even in a reduced military and territorial form, Ukraine would remain a significant danger, requiring us to keep our forces on the western borders,” he said. In his view, the US seeks to free up resources for an eventual confrontation with China, using Ukraine as a containment tool against Russia.

So a country that is 1/4 the population size of Russia is a strategic threat?

Russians can be paranoia crazed. Tell him there is a monster under his bed.

Russia has not officially rejected anything. What a misleading title.

Of course it’s from a state run Ukrainian propaganda outlet so no surprise there.

The reason is economic prosperity for the regular citizen. Belarus has that problem with the individual prosperity of the Baltic States and Poland.

Ukraine was not trying to join NATO before 2022. The whole Maiden Square protest and before that the Color Revolution was about joining the EU and Russia couldn't allow that to happen.
