Putin is making it very clear that any truce in Ukraine will come only when he is defeated. We talk, he kills Ukrainians. We talk some more, he kills more Ukrainians. He has openly said he wants to destroy Ukraine and that is his war aim. A combined Ukrainian-US-European effort will be needed to defeat him badly enough that he wants a crease fire. Until then he will keep lying and killing. We don’t need a single American military person fighting in Ukraine. We do need to provide advanced weapons in quantity, permission to hit against military targets in Russia and vastly expanded sanctions against Russia. Only then will a ceasefire be possible.

9 killed, 81 injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine over past day

July 8, 2025 11:13 am

At least nine civilians were killed and 81 others injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past 24 hours, regional authorities reported on July 8.

Ukraine's Air Force said Russia launched 54 drones overnight, including Iranian-designed Shahed-type attack drones, and fired four S-300/400 guided missiles.

Air defenses intercepted 34 drones, while another eight were likely used as radar-jamming decoys. Drones struck five locations across the country.

The overnight assault was repelled using aircraft, electronic warfare, mobile fire groups, and missile defense systems, the military said.

In Kharkiv Oblast, one person was killed and 40 others were injured, including three children, as the city of Kharkiv and seven other settlements came under attack, Governor Oleh Syniehubov reported.

Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia Oblast injured 20 people and damaged at least 64 houses and apartment buildings, Governor Ivan Fedorov said.

In Donetsk Oblast, three civilians were killed — two in Oleksiyevo-Druzhkivka and one in Novotroitske — and 10 more were injured, according to Governor Vadym Filashkin.

In Sumy Oblast, four people were killed and four more injured in Russian strikes, the local administration reported.

One person was killed and four others were injured in Kherson Oblast, where Russian forces hit residential areas and public infrastructure, damaging two apartment buildings and 17 houses, according to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.

Three people were injured in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, where Russian troops attacked with first-person-view (FPV) drones, Governor Serhii Lysak said.

It seems Putin is removing a number of high ranking military officers and caporegime of the siloviki. Lots of infighting going on as well as the Reserve Bank approaches its crash landing. The weaker groups will be forced to pay their REPO 'loans', forcing them into bankruptcy and into forced possession of the stronger groups.

quote:

Russia's former Transport Minister Roman Starovoit shot himself dead in Odintsovo following his dismissal by President Vladimir Putin on July 7, the pro-government newspaper Izvestia reported, citing unnamed sources.
quote:

Former Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit, was reportedly about to be charged with a 15 billion ruble ($190 million) fraud over the construction of border fortifications in Russia's Kursk region.
quote:

Although Smirnov is said to have implicated Starovoit in testimony given back in April, Starovoit's fate is said to have been the focus of an intense three-month struggle between rival oligarchic clans who have large stakes in the Transport Ministry's spending programmes.
quote:

A VChK-OGPU source says: "Roman Starovoit was 100% a man of the Rotenbergs [upper picture]. They fought for his position and freedom. And Andrei Nikitin, who replaced Starovoit as Minister of Transport, was 100% a man of the Kovalchuks [Yuri Kovalchuk, lower picture]."

quote:

"They defeated the Rotenbergs in the fight for the Ministry of Transport and, at the same time, [for] Starovoit's freedom."
quote:

Arkady and Boris Rotenberg and their allies have been notable beneficiaries of the multi-billion ruble investment plans of Russian Railways (RZD), which have gone ahead even as the company has fallen into a deep crisis.
quote:

Despite being short of resources elsewhere, in 2024 RZD spent over 200 million rubles buying a skyscraper in Moscow. The building is believed to have been owned by businessman Grigory Baevsky, a business partner of the Rotenberg brothers, and a company associated with them.
quote:

Starovoit's arrest indicates that he had lost the 'krysha' – protection – provided by the Rotenbergs. The brothers have been close partners of Putin in seizing control of Russian companies in an ongoing 'soft privatisation'.

'soft privatisation' - that's what they call grand larceny in Russia now.

quote:

It's not clear what this might mean for the Rotenbergs themselves. It may simply be that the evidence against Starovoit was too strong, and the political pressure too intense, for him to be saved by their influence.

The key soft targets in the siloviki families (like Starovoit) will be the first victims but it won't be long until the first car bombs go off. Should be fun.

I would.like to ask the.moderator/administrator that banned that clown yesterday or the day before.

By looking at the evidence/posts how is what you are seeing from this clown(Cope) any different than what the other clown was doing?

I see two standards here. If the other guy or JB was banned why is Cope not banned for doing basically the same thing?

Cope needs a holiday/timeout. What he is doing is no different than what JB was doing. Cope is the Ukrainian version of JB.

In the old thread, I asked when does Summer begin. I asked because all the talk was about the imminent Russian Summer offensive.

Supposedly Ukraine was stretched thin. They over extended themselves by attacking into Kursk. 110,000 Russian troops were massing in Pokrovsk and this key defensive position was about to be taken. One of the better military posters, a student of warfare even predicted a Russian break through in a couple of weeks.

Well besides Russia ramping up their terror campaign, nothing has happened yet.

Now there is still time. The Winter season isn’t here, but if Russia’s big offense is going to happen it needs to show up soon.

The Russian budget figures for June have dropped, which is the correct verb. Maybe 'were executed' would be more appropriate.

quote:

The result is that the deficit in 6 months is 6 times greater than last year. 0.6 trillion rubles, against 3.7 trillion rubles this year for the first half of the year.
Source: Ru Ministry of Finance -

Focus on the Oil & Gas revenue for the first five months of 2024 compared to the last five months of 2025. Also Total Income (cash flow, as opposed to revenue) of 77% for Jan. 2024 compared to last month's 2%. That's money velocity and it's dead.

They only have one option now - sell more infrastructure to the Chinese. And that will only keep war production going at a survivable rate. Printing Ruble to devaluate and instigate inflation won't happen fast enough.

OPEC’s surprise move to increase oil production didn’t help Russia either. The price of oil isn’t going up even though there are ME conflicts. The lower oil goes the tougher it is for Russia.

Here's another one, but this one has teeth.

The Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano (English: Super Toucan), also named ALX or A-29, is a Brazilian turboprop light attack and counter-insurgency aircraft designed and built by Embraer as a development of the Embraer EMB 312 Tucano. The A-29 Super Tucano carries a wide variety of weapons, including precision-guided munitions, and was designed to be a low-cost system operated in low-threat environments.[2]

I don't pay attention to BIG IDEA Newt. He killed a lot of small businesses and then colluded with Clinton to ship a lot of manufacturing overseas with subsidies

I believe there were months in there where Ukraine had a net gain in territory captured versus lost. That period when they took a large part of Kursk.

It seems like the general consensus is that Kursk was a detriment to Ukraine's chances overall though.

The arguing over who is getting what and how much is kind of silly though. General trends over a long period of time tell us way more than "X captured Y amount this month"

no, the difference is that Cope has not launched into a tirade personally insulting you for 20 posts for posting this or disagreeing with him. Same with Cypher, who gets the same accusation. You can ignore Couer and Cypher (some complain that they don't "engage" with other posters and that's why they should be banned...) but JB, PopperRiser and BeatingU would not allow themselves to be ignored, they were just here to forcibly disrupt the thread and that's all... they were really just trolls. There's other anti-Ukraine posters who pop in and make a couple of posts, nobody really bothers with them and that's that (though I'd guess the weapons delivery resumption have them confused on who to be angry with at the moment)...

It's not the content, so much, as the execution.

About what I expected from the echo chamber members.

Different standards if you support Ukraine.
