Rybar is reporting advances in the Hulyaipole direction of eastern Zaporizhia and also a significant advance in the Konstantynivka urban area (pre-war pop. 67K+). We will see if western sources bear this out.

It seems like Russia's strategy of pressure in multiple areas to stretch Ukraine thin and wear them down over time is starting to bear fruit. But its not about claiming ground, its about claiming it and holding it, and what it cost to get it.

With those areas already occupied by Russia, that strategic value is a moot point other than to Russia.
As time passed, it’s my opinion that Pokrovsk has become more and more symbolic.

The real prize in the Donbas has always been the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk urban agglomeration. The loss of Pokrovsk and Kostantynivks (and also Kupkyansk to the north) is that it allows the Russians to concentrate forces in a pincer type movement towards the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk direction. It will take a long time (potentially a couple of years) to take those cities as they are big and probably the most heavily fortified single area on the planet now. But what you are seeing now in Pokrovsk and elsewhere is an attempt to set the stage for a massive battle for those cities. This is just my opinion. I am no expert.

Breaking: Trump Administration Lifts U.S. Restrictions on Ukraine's Long-Range Strikes into Russia
The Trump administration has lifted a key U.S. restriction, greenlighting Ukraine's use of Western-supplied long-range missiles—like ATACMS and Storm Shadow—for strikes on military targets deep inside Russian territory.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the move aims to strengthen Kyiv's defenses against intensifying Russian attacks, reversing months of Pentagon caution to avoid escalating tensions with Moscow.
Hours after the policy shift, Ukraine's military confirmed a successful strike on a critical Russian explosives and rocket-fuel plant in the Bryansk region—about 80 miles from the border. The operation combined UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles with drones, breaching Russian air defenses and inflicting major damage on a key ammunition producer. Ukrainian forces hailed the "successful hit" on social media, calling it one of their deepest incursions to date.

I was wondering about the reports of shouting and yelling between Trump and Zelensky being fake news.

he Trump administration on Wednesday imposed further sanctions on Russia’s two largest oil companies, citing “Russia’s lack of serious commitment to a peace process to end the war in Ukraine.”
“Now is the time to stop the killing and for an immediate ceasefire,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said as he announced the sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil.
Treasury is prepared to take further action if necessary to support President Trump’s effort to end yet another war,” Bessent said. “We encourage our allies to join us in and adhere to these sanctions.”
The Treasury Department said the new sanctions will harm the Kremlin’s ability to raise revenue to fund its war against Ukraine.
A senior White House official told NBC News that the new sanctions are related to plans for a meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Budapest falling through.

Russia has made sweeping advances in recent days that threaten to outweigh the gains made by Ukraine in its cross-border attack into the Kursk region.
The Russians have apparently changed their tactics from using armored columns that get chopped up by drones, Javelins and artillery to doing a lot of very small group infiltrations. This helps them with their numerical advantage.

The advances on the map were only new gray zones because Russian columns were sliced and diced with motorcycles, armored personnel carriers and a tank or two blown up by Ukraine. In typical fashion, Russia sent in a first wave which was decimated so sent in a second wave to also be decimated.
This is why ISW has been 48-72 hrs slow in reporting advances by either Russia OR Ukraine. They want to confirm prior to reporting. With Ukraine's gun runs of 2022 taking wide swaths of territory back from Russia, ISW took 3 days to report the very major advances.
Meanwhile Putin's cucks (especially those who buy what Diesen, Napolitano, Pedo Ritter, etc... claim) stamp and shout, da Joos, Neocons, and such that ISW is propaganda for not reporting Russian advances immediately

This is an extension of their previous strategy, if not a complete continuation.
They use small groups of infantry (or in this case, untrained conscripts) to prod the enemies line looking for weaknesses and then, when they find one, attempt to shell/drone attack/mechanized cavalry charge. It's been hugely costly and largely ineffectual because the Ukrainians seem to have been able to maintain their discipline over the years and, frankly, the Russians have just sucked.

That article was written in August of 2024.
I posted that clip to emphasize just how little Russia had gained towards Pokrovsk in over a year.

Rybar reporting advances now in the Lyman direction. We will see if western sources confirm.

Posted on 10/22/25 at 11:05 pm to T1gerNate
the report of the advance in the south was fake news They were blown the phuck up. They were both allowed to travel well into a trap. This is no different than the allowed "breakthrough" which was cut off and is now surrendering due lack of food and ammo.

The new measures differ sharply from the G7's earlier price-cap mechanism, which allowed Russian crude to flow as long as it was sold below $60 a barrel. “This appears to imply that you cannot buy Russian crude oil regardless of the price,” Kilduff said. “It’s a blanket ban.”
“This is as high-profile as it gets and Washington cannot risk looking like a paper tiger,” said Hari. “But a far bigger question is whether the sanctions will sustain … One Trump-Putin phone call could turn the situation by 180 degrees again.”
