Honestly, I knew you didn’t live in Florida. Like La. they have a high water table. No one has basements there. It’s also a warm climate; thus no boilers.

There is one home on Prien Lake in Lake Charles with a basement. The water table dips below it. The owner was the plant manager for PPG, and Bechtel built it for him back in the day 1950's
