Ukrainska Pravda nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

Yevhen Kizilov — 2 October, 20:00

Estonian MP and former intelligence chief Eerik-Niiles Kross has nominated Ukrainska Pravda for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Source: Kross on X (Twitter)

Details: Kross stated that the nomination is in recognition of Ukrainska Pravda's contribution to democratic transformation in Ukraine and its defence of freedom of speech, which he called "the cornerstone of the democratic world".

He emphasised that Ukrainska Pravda has been a driving force in Ukraine's democratic changes, exposing corruption, reporting human rights violations, documenting Russian war crimes, and serving as one of the key global sources of truth about Ukraine.

Kross also remembered the Ukrainska Pravda journalists who "have given their lives for the right to tell the truth": Georgiy Gongadze, who founded the media outlet, Pavlo Sheremet, and Viktoriia Roshchyna, who was killed in Russian captivity in 2024.

Quote: "I have officially submitted the nomination of Ukrainska Pravda for the Nobel Peace Prize. It is recognition of its contribution to Ukraine's democratic transformation and to the defence of freedom of speech – which is the cornerstone of the democratic world.

Their sacrifice is a stark reminder that freedom of speech rests upon the blood and courage of those who are not afraid to go all the way."

Details: The MP added that for Estonia – a country that knows the cost of freedom very well – this nomination is "an expression of solidarity with the Ukrainian people and of deep respect for the journalists who continue their work where truth itself is a weapon".

Not really. More like "Russia can take over all of the Ukraine and they will still lose due to overwhelming insurgency that will happen" phase.

Looks like you've too entered "cope will happen" phase. Insurgency is a staple of fast invasions when you have a motivated manpower that was overrun but not destroyed. By the hypothetical point Ukraine is taken over, the ones who had fight in them will be buried/crippled or fled abroad. What will be left are remnants of a once crappy Eastern block country that will have to be repopulated.

It's becoming clear they are coming up with every creative way to not have to admit they're wrong. "Yeah, I'm a moron who believed Ukraine can win for 3 years, but at least Russia paid a lot for it, tee-hee." Meanwhile Ukraine is permanently destroyed as a country. Given their corruption and mass migration, they'll never be able to even start rebuilding, assuming someone will give them money for it. They're only funded up to the point of them stopping catching Ukrainian fodder. Once they're done sending bodies out to the frontline, they lose their usefulness.

I bet you said as much one, two of maybe three years ago.

Of course Ukraine is hurting. They are hurting bad, but with all their faults they have made Russia pay for every KM with their blood and treasure.

But why do you care? The longer the war drags on the more money you make. Sad really.

Who on this board has said they thought Ukraine was going to defeat Russia militarily??

I remember several posters, including me, expressing disbelief that Ukraine has been able to engage the mighty, invincible Russian military in a virtual stalemate for over three years.

But I don't recall anyone predicting Ukraine is going to win the war.

I could be wrong so please enlighten me.

ME

Because they are.

How this ends, I don't know. But it will not end with Russia taking over all of the Ukraine, which is their goal no matter what they say. Where the national boundaries are, or who rules what, I don't have a clue, but Russia ain't taking Kiev and Ukraine will remain a sovereign state and it may very well lead to a Russian collapse, and that is absolutely a military win.

They're parroting straight ukro propaganda nafo points line by line, which are completely false.

I can only guess how miserable one gotta be to refuse to admit they were lied to and were duped by peasant directed propaganda and continue to regurgitate same lie even though it make them look moronic.

Ukro propaganda and by extension MSM propaganda from the West doesn't work on intelligent or savvy people. This is why you have an intersection of necon boomers and lefty figs supporting the same cause by and large.

Well I got that one directly from Donald Trump. He has some insight on the situation.

Everything still going to plan?

WHAT THE FU(K ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT

Sing, it's not going to work if all you do is change subjects and try to insult an audience. You've got to keep on message, be more subtle and pick your fights. Either that, or just go full firehouse - there is no middle ground.

Dude, what are they teaching you over there?

Stop being a crybaby and focus.
What ever they are paying, I don’t need as much.
Just calm down, get it together and stop being so damned paranoid. Understand?

Again, this is why you guys can’t seem to win this war. Christ, if it wasn’t for us you guys would be speaking German.

“Russia has shown the world the highest degree of resilience—the ability to withstand the strongest external pressure, pressure that could have broken not only a single country, but an entire coalition of states.”

Putin at Valdai declares that sanctions have completely failed. Far from isolating Russia, he says, the global system itself cannot let Russia go, because it is a necessary and weighty part of the whole."

WTF is "peasant" directed?

You realize a peasant can't direct anything, right?

That's why they are...well...a peasant.

“Go ahead and try dealing with this ‘paper tiger,’” Putin said, responding to U.S. President Donald Trump’s remark describing him and Russia that way.

“If we’re fighting the entire NATO bloc, feel confident, and still get called a paper tiger — then what does that make NATO itself? The key is to believe in yourself — and we do,” Putin stated.

He said the Russian army controls two-thirds of Kupyansk, has entered Pokrovsk, Konstantinovka, and Seversk, and “holds the initiative along the entire front line.”

“Kiev’s leadership would do better to start thinking about how to negotiate,” Putin added"

Putin issues a warning:

“Russia’s countermeasures will not take long to come. Our retaliatory threats will be, to put it mildly, very convincing — but it is the response itself that will be truly convincing.”

He frames Russia as never initiating military confrontation, calling it “absurd,” but insists Moscow will strike back swiftly if challenged. The subtext: Western elites pushing toward “strategic defeat” are playing with fire, and Russia will not show weakness, any attempt to test it militarily will end badly, as history shows."
