Firehose Russia will be upset, but it will take a lot more than a few Tomahawk cruise missiles to force Russia out of Ukraine.

Trump finds new leverage in Ukraine fight with Tomahawk threat and long-range strike authorization
quote:
President Donald Trump is flexing new leverage in the war in Ukraine — allowing the nation to use U.S. weapons to strike deep into Russia, weighing whether to provide Kyiv with Tomahawk cruise missiles and vowing Ukraine can take back all its land — while pressing China and India to slash purchases of Russian oil.
Ukraine supporters are cheering the shift, noting that after months of frustration over the grinding conflict, Trump appears to be changing tactics. From a combative February meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to his declaration last week that Ukraine could reclaim all of its original territory, the president is signaling a harder line on Moscow.

And while the anti-Russian shift in Trump’s rhetoric on Ukraine sparked hope for a different direction, it was not clear he is prepared to put any new policies, such as tougher sanctions, behind it.
More likely, say some experts, is that he has become disillusioned by the idea that he can bring the two sides together by leveraging his personal relationship with Putin and pressuring Zelensky.
“This has been sort of the education of Donald Trump when it comes to trying to negotiate the end of war, the end of a brutal conflict,” said Max Bergmann, the director of the Europe, Russia and Eurasia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “He came in thinking that the Ukrainians were a problem and that they were the ones refusing to stop fighting, and that Russia was stronger, and that he could offer all these incentives and carrots to Putin, and he could pressure Ukraine to end the war. I think he has come to realize that was not true.”
from a Washington Post article on the UN, etc.

So has Trump
Not really.
Trump has demanded that Europe spend more on their military but that doesn’t mean they are more autonomous. We are still pushing for them to buy American arms over their own, we don’t recognize the threat Russia poses to them, and we’ve indicated that we are willing to invade Greenland - none of that indicates European autonomy.
France, and Macron especially, has openly pushed for Europe to have their own combined military, completely separate from the US. The Europeans have ignored him up until now, and they still may be, but France has tried to push it’s way into the center of European defense priorities.

Washington Post article
WAPO has a deep TDS infection.
Trump early on said that if Russia didn't come to the table, that he'd give Ukraine more arms than they could use. We have thousands of Bradley's, Abrams and F16's that are serviceable that are beyond Russian capability, but due for retirement.
Importantly, DARPA and the Army need to test a lot of anti-drone capability since drones have transformed the battle field.
I think that why the Barron bot is in a tizzy over.

Wait until he realizes that Trump is about to dispose of 4000 Tomahawks over Russian arms manufacturing facilities.
Instead of paying millions to have them decommissioned at Redstone, he'll sell them for billions to NATO who will in turn lend them to Ukraine paid for by frozen oligarch money.
Trump can't pass up that kind of deal.

That could put an end to a lot of Russian oil and refining. Refined products were once a good part of their export income.
Tomahawks have been around since the 1970's. That's over 50 years ago and they can still use terrain mapping to navigate to within a few feet so electronic warfare would be rendered pretty much ineffective.

How's this whole Ukraine war thing going for your boy Putin? Still on schedule? When can we expect that inevitable victory?

Excellent. Ukraine's population went from 43 million pre war to 25-28 million currently. Not to mention gaining 25% of new territory and a land bridge to Crimea. Like Erik Prince said in the video below. The Russian Military is now infinitely more experienced and lethal than in 2022. I will take a former Navy Seal and CEO of Blackwater opinion over yours or any other NAFO troll
Not to mention Putin isn't the one begging for a Ceasefire or launching false flag drones into Eastern Europe and begging for more help because he is losing the War.

You’d better declare victory before Trump turns those Tomahawks loose.

Ok. Got it. So the objective of the war was the death and displacement of 15-20 million people? And counting. And that is being carried out according to plan? Good to know.
Because Ive never understood what Putin's reall aim was here. So it's good to hear it directly from someone like you who is obviously an insider.
All clear now.

No. That was Donald Trump. I think the appropriate English word is "demanding" a ceasefire. He demanded Putin stop killing people. Putin refused. So now Putin will reap what he sowed.
I guess you don't think Trump is a man of his word? I guess Putin doesn't either.
Will be interesting to see how what works out for him.

So 4000 Tomahawks set to be decommissioned, which costs real money. Does the Kremlin have 4000 windows they can be preprogrammed to go through?

Putin’s announced goal:
quote:
“I have said many times that the Russian and Ukrainian people are one nation, in fact. In this sense, all of Ukraine is ours,” he declared at a media conference to mark the opening of the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum on Friday, June 20.
He’s 80% short now and the resident spokesman is declaring victory.
I think I see a crack in the Russian armor.

Incorrect. That was Zelensky. Trump said there didn't need to be a Ceasefire to end the War. Try and keep your facts straight Comrade
