And guess who pays for all of this... ? Remember that 1.3 billion Euro payment from the UK to Ukraine last week? And we know where that money came from. Thanks Vlad!

Ukrainian drone manufacturer Ukrspecsystems has announced a £200 million ($270 million) investment in the UK, aiming to build a 11,000-square-meter production facility in Mildenhall and a testing and training center in Elmsett, Suffolk.
The company plans to begin hiring British staff later this year, with up to 500 jobs and training programs to be created, while full-scale production is expected to start in early 2026.
Ukrspecsystems says the project will combine Ukraine’s battle-tested drone expertise with the UK’s industrial capacity, positioning the firm as a global leader in military and civilian UAV systems and turning Britain into a key export hub.
The initiative has the backing of the UK Ministry of Defence, which highlighted the benefits of access to advanced technologies and stronger defense capabilities.

Steve is back from the east and resumes reading Russia. Today in the papers the spectre of Europe, US being part of the India, China, Russia crew, and issues in economics. One business that seems to be booming... a company that makes bionic prosthetics. Thanks, Vladimir Vladimirovich.

Although overall demand remained flat, the EU increased its gas purchases from Russia (some of it through pass through countries) by 18%. Yet they are looking at putting sanctions on China for buying Russian gas.
And we are to believe these people are serious when they think Russia will invade?????
Laughable at this point.
And now crawfishing on their agreement to import more LNG from the US, due to environmental reasons. So they wont pony up the money they promised for the green fund......but environmental issues hamper LNG imports from the states.
These people sure want to have their cake and eat it too in both scenarios.

Pregnant women, like all Ukrainians, seem to be on the frontline, anyway, since Russia targets civilians.

Artilliary shells can be stored in large quantities long term without maintenance. Drones with guidance systems, motors and fuel will have a much shorter shelf life. An inventory of 100,000 drones gonna be hard to manage. Computer updates, polymer skin repair .

I'm honestly confused here, Aub86 - is this a Ukrainian or Russian cop arresting a civilian for posting?
And if it's a Ukrainian (which it may very well be) does the same problem apply to the invading country?

This is 100% accurate. The Europeans have actively worked to either make money off of this war or do as little as possible with the powers-that-be either sticking either the United States with the bill or their own people.
The only aspect of the post I don't agree with is the idea that the Russians aren't looking to invade, but time will tell - every indication is that the Russians are looking to go after either the Baltics or possibly Poland or Romania, perhaps Moldova. I argue that they have to finish the job in the Ukraine first, but we'll just have to see.

If the people who would in theory be the ones invaded aren't worried about it, I'm not sure why a bunch of Americans in this thread are.
If Europe walked the walk and didn't just talk the talk, I would give a lot more weight to the invasion issue.

There were no quiet nights in Ukraine this summer. In June and July, the occupiers launched a total of 11,739 drones — a record since the start of the full-scale war.

Well, politics is factional. The faction in European politics who either were on Russian payrolls or underrated the Russian threat still exist. They are sidelined for now. I think people in the European security sector do take the Russians seriously but given the economic situation on the continent, it is going to be hard to balance those concerns while also dealing with a population who wants to see their life improve in a tangible way.

The ones who will be are - they're actually freaking out.
Poland is rearming like a maniac, the Baltic States and Romania are openly panicking, Germany and Italy have started spending more and more on defense because of Putin, and they aren't the only ones. We won't even mention Finland and Sweden.
But due to their own national struggles, stupid decisions, infighting over minor issues, and their over reliance on the American defense blanket they can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea that they need to simply work together and come up with a common front.
But again, this whole invasion is based on the Russians and their buddies challenging the American led world order - it's a direct attack on our own interests, which, frankly, might also contribute to the notion that the Europeans are kind of blase' when it comes to fighting it.

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder immediately comes to mind.
