Oh dear, oh dear... Our boy John Barron has lost his main squeeze, Lord Bebo. "Bebo", AKA David Clews, has fled the UK as police there were closing in.
A failed Labour councillor in Renfrewshire and a failed head of a compulsorily dissolved business, Crews took to the last refuge of scroundrels - the Internet - to spew propaganda at a price.
Justice prevails.

Notorious far-right influencer David Clews has told followers he has fled Scotland – and he’s seeking cash donations to fund his time abroad.
The Scot, from Renfrewshire, is styling himself on Tommy Robinson, telling supporters he is fearful of arrest on his return to the UK.
He is believed to have been on a family holiday but now says he will not return while the UK Government seeks to clamp down on anyone deemed to be instigating racial unrest, amid riots in England and Northern Ireland.

Clews, who was recently reported to be in Costa Rica, told his supporters on Thursday that the anti-fascist Hope Not Hate group was seeking to build a criminal case against him.
quote:
A HNH spokesperson said: “As usual, David Clews is playing the victim and blaming others for his misfortunes.
This should be unsurprising, as anyone who has paid the slightest attention to him will know he has zero interest in the truth, but instead makes his money spreading spurious conspiracy theories and racist nonsense.”
quote:
Clews, who was formerly a Tory then a Labour councillor in Renfrewshire, has close links with extreme organisations like Patriotic Alternative – some of whose most prominent members are in jail for spreading right-wing and white-supremacist hate.
Clews claims the media has lied by pinpointing him as an influencer who “fanned the flames” of racial unrest and broadcast the wrong name of a Muslim man not involved with the Southport killings.
Clews, a Christian, compared his own suffering to that of Christ.
He said: “Yet be not afraid as I have never felt more positive. “The suffering and then resurrection of Christ teaches us that hope can always spring eternal from the darkest of places and I value all of the prayers that have been made.”
His personal statement ends with a link to a site that gives a bank account number for donations.

I really wish someone would explain to him, every morning, how tariffs actually work. India does not "pay the tariffs to the United States," buyers in the US pay the tariffs to the US government, raising the price of the Indian products and discouraging purchases.

Speaking of changing their tune... The looming secondary sanctions plus those refinery / rail substation attacks have taken such an effect that even the Kremlin is now grasping reality. Will this turn out to be the excuse Trump needs to TACO again?

“The airspace ceasefire may be a gift from Putin to Trump to help Trump get out of a deadlock.” - The Kremlin’s mouthpiece Sergei Markov “predicts” the result of Witkoff's visit to Moscow.
Markov’s full post: “Airspace ceasefire is most likely to be discussed during negotiations with Witkoff in Moscow. Several circumstances are important here.
1. Reaching an airspace ceasefire is indeed a huge breakthrough in limiting military actions.
2. Russia indirectly supported the airspace ceasefire - Lukashenko said at Valdai in the presence of Putin that Russia is ready for an airspace ceasefire.
3. The airspace ceasefire has now become partially beneficial for Russia because drone attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine often lead to the collapse of air traffic and the shutdown of mobile internet for tens of millions of people.
4. The airspace ceasefire allows Trump not only to avoid imposing new sanctions against Russia but also to start lifting sanctions.
5. Therefore, the airspace ceasefire may be a gift from Putin to Trump to help Trump get out of a deadlock.
6. It is most likely that the airspace ceasefire will work for some time and then gradually be violated by Ukraine.
7. And air strikes on the home front will resume in October.” 6:00 PM · Aug 4, 2025

Russia's military isn't even close to any European military in quality, just massive numbers makes them equivalent. They got that asses kicked by the much smaller Chechens until they started bombing the cities of Chechnya. What they are doing in Ukraine is the same thing. Even as the USSR, they could never take parts of Afghanistan which the US took and occupied.

Russia lost many of their regular army and their Wagner Corp. the first year of the war. They had to rebuild sgss as in and because of their tactics, they lost many of those guys.
In year three plus, many of their regular army folks are gone as they became war victims. They had issues from day one and these losses have made their issues worse. With limited tactics they have to resort to the meat grinder approach.

In the mind set of Stalin, WWII Soviets troops would walk and run across German mine fields no sappers needed.

The gap around Pokrovsk and Mrynohrad continues to slowly tighten. Also advances are slowly being made to the north of Lyman. If Russian pulls this off they would be able to roll up the flanks of Ukrainian forces and push to Kramatorsk.
Lolol. Russia captured Lyman early in the war, for those of you who weren't paying attention then. And they repeatedly tried to push from Izyum towards Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, to complete and utter failure.
Russia was supposed to take Pokrovsk back in November. Now, they may finally finish doing so in the next month or two.
Russia can't "roll up" anything. If there is one absolute thing that Russia has proven in this war, it's that they lack the ability to take anything quickly.

Donkeys can only deliver so much supplies. Motorcycles and civilian cars and trucks aren't exactly an armored fist.

True they did take it in the beginning of the war and Ukraine took it back. I’ve followed this thing since the beginning. But if you think the situation is the same in 2022 as it is now then you must not have been paying attention.

It’s better now than it was in spring of 22.
Since December of 22 it’s been slightly in Russia’s favor.

Everyone knows if they will do this - they won't.
Taking a strategically worthless town for what could be six figure casualties doesn't impact the actual war at all, just the narrative that those who nothing of how to prosecute a war.
The actual fight that matters is on the political level. The living embodiment of evil who is running Russia is going to continue to scream, threaten, maneuver, and massacre every living thing in his way until he is given everything he wants, which is the entirety of the Ukraine. Then, if this were to happen in some imaginary world, he is going to do it again with another country, probably the Baltic states but it could be Poland or possibly Romania, but in reality, it isn't going to go past the Ukraine.
This is because there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that the Russian's are going to even make it to Kiev, much less anywhere near Ukraine's western border. The facts that they have no NCO corps, can't do combined arms, have no real logistical capabilities, and have lost any chance of air superiority means that there is no chance at a breakthrough, much less a break-out. Trust me, there are dozens of other reasons it isn't going to happen, but it would take me another couple of hours to list them all and I'm not exaggerating.
The Ukrainians know they'll be slaughtered if they give up so that's not happening, and the Europeans know they're next if the Ukrainians lose so they'll keep the Ukraine going no matter what, even if that means putting their own soldiers on Ukrainian soil. So Adolf - I'm sorry, Vlad - is going to continue to send his citizens running up against modern machine guns in the dumbest military strategy since the Poles tried using horses in WW II. Poor Russian bastards, I genuinely feel bad for them.
The problem we have as Americans is that the Russians seem to be trying to rebuild, repair, and refit their old nuclear capabilities as fast as possible and that they are moving faster and faster in the newest military technology, ie. drone warfare. Yes, the Ukrainians are far ahead right now and thank god we are doing the deal to send aid in return for some of their advances, but it's still a problem that they are putting so much money into their outdated, gone-to-hell nukes - it should make every sit up and take notice and nobody seems to have. Vlad is looking for any and all ways to gain leverage on us and our allies, especially now that the inevitable fallout between him and our President has happened, so issues like Trump having our Defense Secretary halt offensive operations against Russian hackers is scary as shite to me:
Trump tells Hudspeth to stop watching Russian hackers

Russia sent their military trainers to the front lines early in the invasion, when things started to go south for them. There was discussion on this board about what a long term bad idea that was. Russia has done a LOT of things that are long term bad ideas. If they were facing a peer opponent they would have lost by now, and not even close. They still have learned nothing from our Vietnam or their Afghanistan (ours too, and the Brits - we didn't learn either).
