Although iPhones from India have curiously been exempted from US tariffs, cheap generic pharmaceuticals have not.

Who backs down, Modi or Trump...?

Other than the signing bonus, its actually less than average salary

You are lying. The pay is ~6x above average.

How is Ukraine an ally? We have no historical ties with them. In any way. We barely even trade with them.

If they are so good, why is their post USSR development so far behind the Baltics?

This thread is titled, "Latest Updates: Russia-Ukraine Conflict."

Yet your post is about, "iPhones from India have curiously been exempted from US tariffs, cheap generic pharmaceuticals have not."

Do you see the problem?

I wouldn’t exactly call them an ally, but they did support us in Afghanistan and Iraq by sending troops so they have fought with us.

Perhaps because they were invaded twice and don’t have NATO protection?

When they were first invaded over a decade ago, their GDP per capita was 1/5 of estonias at the time

The answer is they are Russia jr culturally. Corruption, societal degeneracy, not western

Rodynsk might fall in the next week or two. Which will leave Ukraine forces in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad one avenue to fall back from the cities if needed. I get hitting Russian infrastructure behind the lines, but really feels like they need to shift a lot of focus to this situation. Could be disastrous for Ukraine in this sector of the Donetsk region.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you on this. The US strategy now to bring the Russians to the table to negotiate peace is to apply economic pressure on countries buying Russian oil, and trading with Russia in other ways (drone components in particular). India is the first country to have this pressure applied. How this is implemented and how India responds has a great deal to do with a possible peace deal in the Russia-Ukraine Conflict.

His posts are not always on point but I think this one is.

More bad news for Russia, OPEC votes to maintain production increases for at least another month and eight holdout members now signal they will comply.

However for those that think Russia is serious about cutting 9.5 million bbls per day, please DM me about wonderful financial opportunities in the Russian Army.

OPEC+ is reversing the remaining 547k bpd of voluntary cuts by 8 members in September, citing "steady global economic outlook and current healthy market fundamentals"

That "steady global economic outlook and current healthy market fundamentals" is in quotes for a good reason.

War update: 153 clashes on front lines, most Russian assaults concentrated in Pokrovsk sector

03.08.2025 23:37

Since the beginning of the day, 153 combat engagements have occurred along the front lines, with the Pokrovsk sector facing the heaviest fighting—38 Russian assaults were launched against positions held by the Defense Forces of Ukraine. In that area, nearly 90 Russian troops were reportedly killed.

This was reported by Ukrinform, citing operational information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00 on August 3, published on Facebook.

“Since the beginning of the day, 153 combat engagements have taken place. The enemy launched one missile and 53 airstrikes, dropped 82 guided bombs, and carried out 903 kamikaze drone strikes. In total, Russian forces conducted 3,011 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas,” the report stated.

updates on all sectors:

Just an aside: how callous have we become by casually writing and reading about the deaths of 90 young men in a meaningless war?

Their lives are over and done.

I include myself in that callous group.

Main Takeaways: From ISW

Ukraine conducted a series of long-range drone strikes against energy infrastructure in Russia on the night of August 1 to 2.
Ukraine also conducted a series of long-range drone strikes against Russia's defense industrial base (DIB), drone launch sites, and air defense systems on the night of August 1 to 2.
The Kremlin has yet to employ a coordinated response to US President Donald Trump’s August 1 announcement that he ordered the deployment of two US nuclear submarines closer to Russia.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov parroted many of the same talking points that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made during a press event on August 1 that blamed Ukraine for the lack of progress in negotiations and signaled Russia's unyielding commitment to its longstanding demands.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Novopavlivka and in western Zaporizhia Oblast, and Russian forces recently advanced near Toretsk.

To use a phrase coined by former Slovakian officer who did three tours in Ukraine, it's like two 4 year olds fighting on the playground. Anyone fully trained is long dead.
