AG’s don’t get special “civil rights” to protect them from Grand Jury indictments, frivolous or not.

So you don’t believe choosing to prosecute any individual frivolously is a violation of that individual’s civil rights?

I enjoy it when a cliche rhetorical device meant to convey something doesn't exist exposes how shallow and poorly someone thinks.

You used a lot of words to contribute absolutely nothing to the thread or discussion. But your disapproval of my post is duly noted. Hot take.

I don’t believe the actions of the Grand Jury violated anyone’s civil rights. Do you think every single charge that is dismissed or results in a not guilty verdict is a civil rights violation?

And I really hope you answer this. I’ve noticed you tend to ignore my uncomfortable questions.

No, of course not.

Do you deem every dismissed charge a frivolous one? That would be ridiculous.

Im gonna kinda have to disagree with you on that one myself. I think it was a clear shot across the bow meant to send a message. I will however concede that I don't think there would be any standing on that now because the matter was dropped.

There isn't anything to contribute to assist a dullard who can't see what is easily seen by anyone with a brain.

Dear Chubbies,

You really shouldn’t f*ck hobos and drifters. They have diseases that could severely rot your brain – as I’m sure you have discovered by now.

Love,

Moreno etal appear to want this issue dropped.

Clearly Landry doesn’t want that

Landry would be a pretty good governor if he didnt talk so much. Sounds like a clown. But his actions have been largely solid

In other words, employing a substance over form analysis, Landry is a good governor. I’ll go with that.

I wouldn't say every dismissed charge, but I've seen many dismissed charges that I believed were frivolous. Murrill's charges were dismissed and I'm unsure of any damages she suffered. Murrill indicted Susan Hutson and Bianka Brown frivolously and they incurred hefty legal fees just as Murrill did to fight her indictment. It looks a lot like karma to me.

Of course, for some reason the poli board doesn't seem to care when black people are indicted so no one is worried about Hutson or Bianca Brown.

Is the substance liquor? Or an opiate?

No one ever sides with me. SFP only leaves me alone so he isn't the most hated poster here

That doesn't constitute a civil rights violation, though.

Murrill had to file paperwork with the courts. She maybe had to hire an attorney. She wasn't arrested. She didn't have to post bail. She got a bunch of attention and the issue was dropped. Which of her civil rights were violated? Could she not vote in an election? Was she denied a mortgage? Did she lose her job?

What’s the position/question here?

Can or should individuals in New Orleans face repercussions if they brought (or helped organize/facilitate bringing) frivolous charges against the sitting AG?

Would she be able to uncover enough evidence to prove this occurred - which is rightfully a hefty burden?

There is no concrete standard for determining if a charge is frivolous, to my knowledge.

BTW Fr. Tom got transferred to San Antonio to start a formation center there with Fr. Rex (not sure if you "know" him). Fr. Tom said his last mass at St. Joseph's last Sunday. I don't think he wants to move. He was pretty emotional.

I agree, which is why I characterized the burden as hefty. Lacking any merit whatsoever should certainly qualify, don’t you think?

Determining if an accusation lacked any merit whatsoever is subjective, especially in this case given all the context. Proving that the accusation lacked any merit whatsoever would be what a trial is for, correct?

No, not necessarily.

You mean a trial on the accusation or a trial determining the frivolity of such?
