Seriously, where is this “heavy criticism” everyone’s pretending to be so upset about coming from? Tons of MAGA folks condoning said criticism on Twitter but nobody seems to be linking/retweeting that criticism itself.

It’s so bizarre to me how the left is horrified by the political beliefs of 50% of the populace. I’m never shocked or horrified. when I find out someone is a Democrat because half the country is. It’s such a strange reaction.

I'm willing to cut Drew a little bit of slack looking back at everything in context. Still think he messed up but I'm willing to be somewhat understanding. I think Drew is a really good guy overall and truly does care about people. Back when he originally had this moment, alot of people were still under the impression that apologies did some amount of good and the truth is that they do.........to people on the right. Look at Bud Light. They absolutely threw up on themselves with the Mulvaney thing and responded by firing everyone and going back to their roots. Subsequently, they're back in the somewhat good graces with their customer base, they have big UFC and NFL sponsorships, etc. But that was people on the right that were offended and eventually forgave.
People on the left don't forgive. Once labeled, you are what you are and no apology will ever be enough for these people. In a way, I feel like what happened to Drew Brees and some of the others in that time frame kind of set the table for what we see today which is people by and large refusing to apologize to the left. They showed their true colors and were exposed in that apologies do not make any difference to these people. It doesn't matter what Drew did for New Orleans. It doesn't matter how good a guy he was. It doesn't matter how much money his foundations raised for charity or how many black people he helped. The left labels you and that's that. It's the reason why everyone knows now that you cannot apologize to these people, ever.
