WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee passed a spending bill on Thursday evening that includes $10 million to help fund the United Nations’ climate change body that oversees the Paris Climate Agreement, despite President Donald Trump’s decision to stop funding it.

The amendment passed 16-14. Republican Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee voted in favor, as did all committee Democrats except for West Virginia’s Joe Manchin.

Sounds like someone didn't really research what's actually in the agreement. In addition, no one even knows exactly what the effects will be from the measures proposed and they're non-enforcable.

How will this funding help the planet? The answer, of course, is that it won't.
What a waste of time too. They will never get the votes to override a veto.

Exactly how many millions, billions, trillions of dollars would it take for the UN to fix the problem? You can round off the the nearest amount.

Wait, you were serious.

Trump's only mistake here was that he didn't withdraw from the UN itself.
Worthless bunch of assholes if ever there was. They make Congress look like problem solvers.

Does not exist.
Congress actually gave Bill Clinton this power and he used it a lot but SCOTUS struck that power down because it was not a enumerated power outlined in the constitution and you can only sign or veto bills or take no action towards them.

Just think what that $10 million could do to help the poor, or people with cancer, or people who lost their homes in a flood.
But, nope, we gotta fund the UN to sit around and pontificate on how evil America is.

Just because Congress appropriates the funds doesn't mean that he has to write the check?
