Dude was/is an anarchist and as hardcore a leftist as one could exist.

I believe this has to be irony on his part or just trying to stir up shite in true punk rock fashion.

The former Sex Pistols frontman, who became a U.S. citizen in 2013, said on ITV’s “Good Morning Britain” that Mr. Trump is “a complicated fellow” but doesn’t deserve being labeled a racist by his liberal opponents.

“What I dislike is the left-wing media in America are trying to smear the bloke as a racist, and that’s completely not true,” the 61-year-old said. “There’s many, many problems with him as a human being, but he’s not that, and there just might be a chance something good will come out of that situation, because he terrifies politicians.”

It's better to MAGA than to fade away.

He actually likes Trump. I've seen him talk about it in interviews. He's also blasted the press for calling Trump racist and things like that, which are completely unfounded.

Didn't know this. I guess his opinion does kinda matter.

Sure about that...?

I wouldn't really say a leftist... More of just anti-culture..

Most punkers were right of center... Look at Henry Rollins..

It really is.

Even if someone isn’t a “conservative” if they have a half functioning brain they can obviously see the current tactics of the progressives are a lot closer to what they were rebelling against than anything conservatives are doing.

He's the kind of guy who likely hates politicians and mainstream media. So he actually might identify with at least some of what Trump is trying to do/expose.

The people in the punk rock bands of old were politically varied. All were very disillusioned with Great Britain's government at the time -- the 1970s. Wages were low and stagnant and the UK was worse off economically than were we here in the USA.

The Clash were obviously Leftist. The Sex Pistols? Only Johnny Rotten spoke about politics and his message was mostly one of anger and a desire for the ruling power structure to be shaken up and awakened into social consciousness -- through Anarchy, if necessary.

Sid Vicious was famous for wearing Nazi regalia but he expressed no political opinions, he just wanted to trigger the adults, which of course, he did.

Truer words never spoken and he nails for me why so many people love Trump. He isn't a politician and the fact that he makes politicians uncomfortable isn't always a bad thing for a country that has, in many cases, just given in and let these politicians make a lot of bad decisions that weren't in our nations collective interests.
