Does the defense even need to call any witnesses?

He said he was on painkillers while talking to police the first time so he forgot about having a gun - he could remember every other detail but forgot about his gun.
and also met w/ the police a month or 2 later for an OFFICIAL interview including his lawyer and the lead prosecutor and again didn't admit to having a weaspon.

So, he’s not only down to one arm but is about to have his colon resized by his new cell mate.

They have a self defense expert; that is probably all they need.

I watch a lot of trials….the last 30 minutes by the defense was probably my allllll time favorite. Not even close actually. Just the stuff they got Gaige to admit, the order and calmness by the defense, the perjuries, the destruction of a civil case, the tears of joy from the defendant, and…..the prosecution weeping into their covered eyes

ETA: and watching it with YouTube crew commentating on it

I was about to ask this. I think I would rather this prosecutorial circus front and center in the jury's minds. I don't see how defense witnesses could add anything more than what the defense has already established in cross examination.

To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.

Stack up enough counts of perjury, weapons charges, etc, and it likely winds up with one or more felonies.

Even minimum security isn’t a picnic. Not like he can beat someone up the first day so it looks like he will be someone’s bitch. And he won’t be able to get them with a handy either.

“Attempted murder?!? It’s not like he killed anybody! Make it aggravated assault and I can post bail in cash now.”

He also admitted to concealing a gun, and I believe he's a felon so even admitting to having the gun is a felony

If he has some sort of immunity agreement in exchange for his testimony, it would have to be disclosed, right?

That was my thought.

Pointing a loaded weapon at someone seems like it should be assault at a minimum.
