I am genuinely asking, is that common practice to amend the disclosure form after the fact?
Yes.

And no, I'm not talking out my arse.

It's actually pretty common. I'm not saying that as an excuse in THIS case.

Just answering our question.

Based on what?

And you are assuming these are actual contacts and not just a big list of people to cover his arse.

I know I started security paperwork and it was daunting.
Daunting is being very kind.

It's like the government said to itself, "how can make this shite as absurdly cumbersome as possible?

Then, when someone said, "hey, here's how"........the govt said, "frick that..........too simple.......next!"

The genuine answer is yes.

I worked for the DOJ. Amendment of disclosures is common practice. If you want an additional confirmation, even from a liberal source, NPR had a big story on this and even they had to admit that a disclosure being amended is common practice.

100 foreign contacts

Ah, so you're a xenophobe? The word 'foreign' is a dog whistle. You need to change your title pronto to 'international.'

Well. To be fair. 100 is probably a lot if compared to all who fill out the forms.

But, it may not be quite as many when we're talking about people who have international ties as a matter of course due to what they've done for a living.

I mean, I wouldn't have 100 even if I forgot every contact I ever had.

Per Lucky Tiger

Even NPR admits that these disclosures are updated and amended all the time.

But you said all 100 were required by law. We don't know that.
Fair enough, and there is likely some grey area that fall under "safe rather the sorry." I'm sure many fit under that area, so "required" is too strong.

That said, with what we know about the one disclosure, I don't think it rational to assume the remaining 100 are all in that grey area. Maybe they are, but that's not a rational apriori assumption considering what we do know.

That's not how this works, unless you hired someone that knows every foreigner a-hole you have met. Knows your address for the last twelve years. The date of birth of all your siblings and death, what county city and state they were born in. Oh let's throw in all your in laws data. Hope there isn't a divorce in the mix with any of these people. It goes on and on.

Sure, kushner is going to have to help with this. But as I recall, there were pages and pages and pages of complete bullshite and basic autobiographical stuff.

We know three disclosures were missing, and potentially relevant.

the meeting last year
the meeting with kisylak
the meeting with VEB.

I am sure he got an assist, but yeah it's pages and pages of personal data. I got a call from an old grade school teacher wanting to know WTF I did after he got the meet in greet from the investigators. BTW I never put his name down on any forms.

I would like to know how many disclosures he listed originally. If he initially listed 1000 than 100 additions are a lot more reasonable than an initial listing of 100.

I would also be curious about the disclosures someone like Rex Tillerson, who undoubtedly had numerous contacts, maybe even more. Did he have to add a bunch too? He would serve as a good baseline since he seems like an honest and credible person.

If they released his data within twenty minutes someone would come forward saying he played in a round of golf in 1989 therefore Tillerson is a liar.

Well at least by comparison. Kushner also has a family history that doesn't do him any favors (his father).

Politicians lie. I don't like it, but unfortunately that's how it is.

To harp on this is a waste of time.

I can list dozens of lies from every president going back to WW2.

So you are okay with the swamp being the swamp.

Despite what the Donald promised.

Trump is the liar in chief though...

Meanwhile the clock is ticking for the next Trump advisor/colleague/relative to admit that he/she also met with Russian officials regarding the election.

Because you know there are more.
